Mini bus from pub ... probably Very early beer there . Aim towards Wembley with watering stops on way down

2 hours of footy and presentation of trophy to Town ( also including a few " Iam not worthy " bows from myself to PDC )

Aim Minibus back towards New Whitt with watering stops on way back ..

No wonder I was confused.

Assuming you feel any sort of affection for your home town and its football team why would you not go?

I have a great deal of affection for what is my home town and place of birth ....Maybe there is a case for thinking , why Gatecrash a big soopa doopa party when I make no effort to socialise with the person at any other time .

Just playing devil's advocate . I imagine there will be quite a few other gatecrashers as it were

If you were preventing anyone else from going then yes. As you won't be then get yourself there. At a guess we have 10,000 people who attend games however infrequently. There will be a few more that follow us but don't go to games at all for whatever reason. If we're to sell 21,000 (and I think we will) then a good few thousand will go to daytrippers of various types - family members, friends, local people who support other clubs who want a day out with mates or those who just want to be part of it.

No i'm not going, I'll leave the blue wigs face paint to the 10000 who haven't been since old Trafford, i'm skiing in the three Valleys, of it's on in a meribel bar while i'm enjoying a10 euro pint I'll have a look but for me, I'd be happier with a win at bury, i'm going to that one.

Your choice.
Can't for the life of me understand it but hey ho.
Enjoy your day.

On the other hand, how many people felt like throwing themselves off the multi-storey when we got knocked out early doors last season? It's only a worthwhile competition if you reach the last couple of rounds. Would the memory of a day out at Wembley sustain us through the soul-grinding trips to some of League Two's football cathedrals next season? I intend to enjoy the day, but it's not much more than a snack between meals in terms of football nourishment.

Couldn't agree more Stuart. Lets face it we even get ready with "Well at least we can concentrate on the league now" when the FA Cup comes around, so a journey to Wembley will be a nice way to forget - for a few hours at least - what a nightmare this season has been. Also, I imagine there will be one or two town players wanting to make the squad for that game so we might see some improved performances as players look to battle for a shirt

So only people who go to every game is entitled to Go to Wembley In which case we will be taking 7000 :angry
Surely it belongs to the town and if the local trade make a few bob i.e Blue and White balloons etc that is good surely. Take out the argument about ticket allocation why does it matter if the game attracts 15,000 none regular fans

Here we go again ...

Do I qualify to go self appointed superfans ???

I came to supporting the Spireites rather late in life (blame my dad .. He's dead now though so all is well in that dept).
It was just before the FA Cup Semi Final and NO I didn't go to Old Trafford because of the stories of real fans not being able to get tickets .. Didn't think it fair to jump on the bandwagon! Having said that I've had a season ticket
pretty much every year since and have brainwashed my son into doing the same. I've also been to many a "tin pot paint pot trophy" (my name for it for quite a while as it happens) although tragically wasn't one of the 500 at PNE.

But surely this is different? We won't sell 35k tickets!

We shouldn't be an elitist closed shop .. We should want (and need) new blood or we die! If a few non attendees go to Wembley and get caught up in the spireite thing then
that's B****Y FANTASTIC surely.

Better that than lose em to clubs around us ... Come on boys .. Plenty of tickets .. Let's have a little less whinging
and perhaps be a little more inclusive?

Every Spireite has a duty to make sure as many tickets as possible are sold. I'm taking my London based Auntie & Uncle who between them have been to one Chesterfield match in their lives. My Uncle's only connection is that his second wife has a brother who happened to meet and marry a woman from Chesterfied in the 1970s.

Can the "fans" who were slagging off the JPT a couple of weeks ago please raise their hands now? Just so I can be sure who is not going to Wembley.

Come on now, you know who you are, let's be having you...

I was one who said its a distraction, and if it was a choice between wembley or staying up = give me league one status.

Not sure why your gloating and being all self righteous though.
