thanks not that you should really have to justify it to me (a complete stranger) but as said i am interested to know why, having read that i can totally see where you're coming from, my 7 year old son, likes wolves because a few seasons ago they won the championship and he was just becomming aware of football results and they were winning every week. I have taken him to the odd wolves game and despite being a cfc season ticket holder, he still claims wolves are his first team. i'm fascinated to know how long this will go on,

Stop taking him and it should be not very long.

I know exactly why you don't like Man Utd your jealous and don't try and worm your way out of it,they are the most successful club in this country for a long long time it shows on here when they lose a game someone pops up and spouts off in wind up mode it doesn't happen often though...

Oh and people wind you up when Manchester lose because you bite so easily, that makes it funny for them

The first few lines are exactly why people hate teams like Manchester and Liverpool, just ugly arrogance, if people truly were fickle enough to feel jealousy about another team then they would simply change colours and support them.
My grandfather and father both follow(ed) Walsall and basically told me you followed your local team, that's what football is about, if I just picked a team at random then i may as well chose Barcelona, rangers, Milan, that always made sense to me.
I suppose if you follow two teams and you try hard enough you can find some tenuous links between the two, I've been watching town since 77 so no doubt if I tried hard enough I could find a readon to justify supporting almost any team in the country!

Exactly they are your reasons why you say other people don't like your team.
I'm sure like you I've watched various sports around the world, I only support town because that's how I was told it worked. You were told different, just don't come across as arrogant when people say they dont like one of your teams

I wasn't told anything i made my own mind up as a kid,i had brains then you know, there is only one on here that tried to wind me up,he never tried debate never said anything to me except wait for results then made a thread aimed directly at me,i do not and will not accept that he is the arrogant one and that is putting how i feel about him kindly,i have had wind ups all my life by friends gaffers i tell them how it is in a proper way but someone hiding behind a alias is not acceptable to me and never will be,i don't see his posts now unless someone quotes them,so don't come high and mighty to me....

Blimey! My arrogance comment was based on you calling people jealous and telling them not to try and worm their way out of it, and I was the second person (at least?) to comment on it.
Not coming high and mighty, and absolutely no idea what/who you are on about, don't most people have an alias on here?

When I was a nipper, my dad was so concerned that I'd be swayed by all my Man Utd supporting mates that he steered me towards Newcastle as a very good friend of his is a toon fan. So, when I was wee I supported town, but Newcastle were my 'big' team and I enjoyed supporting them both hugely (especially when Newcastle beat Man Utd 5-0, what a night that was haha). But, after going to more and more town games, I soon lost interest in Newcastle and by the time I was 10 or 11, there was only one team for me - and that team played in blue shirts and white shorts. It's usually something that people grow out of, but not always eh Dema ;) Thing is, if Dema wants to support two teams, no one should be able to tell him that he's wrong for doing so, it's his choice chaps. But why Man Utd need to advertise in any local paper is beyond me...seems to me that they're popular enough!

Dema, I think the main reason Man Ure is hated is because they're now run more like a business than a football club, plus they've been dominant of the top flight for about 20 years now. Which isn't jealousy, by the way, it's boredom. Hence why I'd love Man City to win the Premier League this year, even though they have got even more money than Man Ure. Wny would Chesterfield fans be jealous of MUFC anyway, it's not like there's any established rivalry between the clubs.

Plus there's other little reasons why they continue to be hated: arrogance of some of their fans, glory-hunting of others, the dislikeability factor of people such as the Glazers, Fergie, Rooney, Giggs etc... I could go on. If you're a supporter, then good for you, but you're never ever going to change the hearts and minds of the majority of people, especially on here. By the way, I used to be a MUFC fan as a kid, when I wasn't old enough to know any better. ;)

why a Chesterfield newspaper would run a full page ad for them is a disgrace.

It's the Derbyshire Times though, they've never been ones for journalistic integrity. Money talks.

It is an advert for pin badges for gods sake, there are United fans living in this area they can advertise on the other side of the mon if they want time you got a grip of your senses,i think you have started this thread just to provoke knowing you will get support of a mainly Chesterfield fan board,if you don't want a reaction from a United fan then don't start something like this,i never start a thread about United it is always Chesterfield supporters, don't buy the paper if it aggravates you i don't but then again im clever....

What a strange post from you, you're losing it. I posted because I think it's a disgrace to have a full page color ad for ManUre merchandise in the DT.

Just as the line of glory hunters waiting for the coach to watch ManUre the morning of a Town home game is a disgrace.
