Not really snowed much in town, mainly sleet. Pitch should be ok when gritters have been on.

As I understand it - the visiting club checks with the home club prior to travelling - if the visitors get the ok to proceed and the match is subsequently postponed they can recoup their travelling expenses from the home club.

I must say have never heard this rule before. How can a club be held responsible for weather conditions? If we tell Charlton on Friday that the pitch is fine but then Friday night the weather makes a turn for the worse and the Ref subsequently calls the game off,how can we be held responsible for that? Surely a well worded email with the words "travel at your own risk" would sort this problem out if this was the case.

I believe the pitch was cleared yesterday afternoon. Since then there's been a dusting of snow.

Pitch is ok on the wings but middle of the pitch like concrete, so very unlikely match will be on, pitch inspection at 1pm by ref before charlton set off at 2pm!!!

Should hear shortly. I could be wrong but don't expect a call-off today.
