so do you think then that if i turn up on thursday, saying i want a ticket in the 46 quid range, and the block theyre selling only has front row tickets left...if i dont want them i have to go to the back of the queue and try again when they move onto next block ??? Hope not or youre gonna get people going round in circles all day !!
Going by this post then you choose a price and get given a ticket as they are sold block by block. If you dont like what you are going to get then short of doing what you say then you have no other option.

Spoke to someone at the club this morning, and from what I could gather (apologies if misunderstood), you cannot choose exactly where to sit its , just a price you opt for and get a ticket. The South Stand was chosen first because behind the goal tickets are the first to be sold , hence they would probably want to sit behind the goal. The "unlimited option" is FA policy, as expected not the clubs..but this doesn`t get away from the fact that a hell of a lot of non season ticket holders, and more annoyingly, people who normally dont care a fig about how chesterfield are doing, will have a chance of ticket prices well before East Stand ticket holders.
To be honest its pretty standard selling policy for Wembley. I bought tickets for the NFL last year and whilst it was online it was the same. I chose a price and was allocated a block. My brother has bought them this year and when trying to do it on Monday kept being allocated seats in one block that wasnt great. He left it til the following day and got them in a different block instead which is in effect what you are suggesting.
