I sincerely hope we are not going to experience a Wembley victory against relegation. Even worse a Wembley loss and relegation.

Could we be visiting Wembley with all but relegation confirmed, how quick will the Wembley visit fade as the fight becomes a losing cause.

But on the other hand would you take L1 survival here and now against everything else; is the Wembley visit/experience going to be enough.

I'm greedy, I want it all - just look at all the potential new support we are show casing, even the build up outside of the b2net on the day. The waving off of the team a couple of days before, all there to be taken advantage of - could it stimulate another step up for the club attendance wise or could a Wembley loss be a curtain call for out right condemnation of this seasons short comings.

What ever your view the feeling of anticipation will soon rise to the fore come the planning of a new season and this season will be just memories but hopefully good ones.
God I hate this league.

Would be lovely to win and survive but sadly the die was probably cast pre and the early part of the season:-(

Very poor management decisions and a few injuries coupled with bad luck, stupidity (Lester's ban) and a much stronger league than the manager had realised......

It's still entirely possible (but wouldn't put any money on it!

A Wembley visit to support the team you love is something special, to win there puts the icing on the cake. In my opinion to retain our league 1 status is a little more important. But i'm sure we will go there (Wembley) and enjoy the day whatever the outcome.

agree wholeheardtedly.

However losing at Wembley was grim in 1990.

If it would guarantee our survival I'd quite happily withdraw from the competition giving Oldham the chance to play at the New Wembley for the first time, dispite having 70 people to let down that are already booked on our coach (I'd take a good kick in for this, but it would be worth it!)
At any-rate I'd have all summer to recover before next season kicked off in the knowledge that we wouldn't be playing the likes of Accy, Macclesfield and the Barnet's etc next year, the thought of this alone would help mend the cracked ribs, bruising and ease the severe pain I'd surely be in :D

Too many incidents like Carlisle last Saturday. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, out of the RZ to bottom in 10 minutes or so.

2 tough matches coming up and we could be adrift again by the end of those games.

Hope I'm wrong but Saturday was a massive kick in the balls and I wonder if we can recover.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

This will go against the grain i'm sure but I have very little interest in the Wembley final, I'm off to the Alps for 4 days skiing with some mates, the only thing the JPT has going for it is the urine up but the Globe and Green Man or some livley Alpine Bar? Let me think about it.

The JPT just masks what has been the most shambolic season I can ever remember as a Town Fan.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but i have seen plenty more shambolic seasons. I think it would take one hell of a lot of research to prove it

Thats the way its looking to me. I'm not being negative, just a realist! This months fixture could make or break us; as you say TF, we could be well adrift come March, if we are still in touching distance then that will do me.
What I feel some folks don't seem to be grasping is that after Saturdays game we move into the 30's games played zone and thats scary when you think that in a handful of games time we'll be into only single figures for matches left to get the points we need. Even though it obviously won't be the deciding factor this month, I really feel it is massive, once we become adrift again, it'll be to much for us I feel.

I really dont like to admit it, but I cannot bring myself to get overly excited about Wembley given our league status. Being realistic about it, if we do go down, a Wembley win will have at least provided a day out to remember for the deserving fans who have endured an otherwise rather testing season so I still hope that we go there and bring back not only some silverware but a few thousand happy fans who deserve to smile about something this year. Personally, I'd choose staying up over the JPT every time but there is nothing to say that we cannot do both (a challenge yes, but not impossible). At the very least a win at the New Wembley should provide a much needed confidence boost and as long as we're still in with a shot of getting out the RZ around that time, it might even save our season!

Funny but I seem to have a different view to a lot on here.
March the 25th is our first time EVER to have a chance to win a cup final at Wembley.
Just like championship seasons and the Anglo Scottish cup it will be forever ingrained into our history.
How can that not be important?
As for relegation. Well of course I don't want us to get relegated but if we do, we will most likely be strong next season and who knows we may even win our second championship in three years.
Would I swop the final win for survival? Yes but only for financial reasons and for me its a very very close call.
I want that cup win!
Taking cover now.

Wembley will mean sweet Fa if we don't preserve our L1 status. The face painting wig wearing giant foam hand mob might be happy but it would be a hollow victory for me(assuming we would win) if we are well adrift come March 25th.

Fair views mate.

I just hope our league position is looking a lot better come the time of our Wembley visit then we'll really be able to enjoy the occasion a lot better.

My 9 year old grandson says he wouldn't swap Wembley to stay up and as his 70 year old grandad, who will in all probability never be able to share that once in a lifetime experience again with him, I can't disagree with him even if I wanted to. Tough choice for me but for him it was easy.

 Really looking forward to the JPT Final.Never been to the new stadium and the day out will provide a distraction to our league fortunes.I don't think our season will be over by then.It won't be over until the fat lady sings and there'll be a few twists and turns to come.If we could just stop the silly mistakes.
Many a good tune
