I think we will stay up...here's the reason....in my opinion we are better now than the current teams around us...

Earlier in the season I would have gone to Carlise expecting to lose before the game began and we probably would have and wouldn't have had any chance of a result during the game as the team wasn't good enough.

Now with the additions I feel we are better than the position we are in, better than the teams around us and in todays game we had the ability to win the match but a goal line clearance and an individual error meant we didn't. It gives me optimism that we went in the game, were in the game throughout and should probably have won against a team in 7th with a great home record.

The're plenty of teams in and around the relegation zone that will all take points of each other...we were 5 points adrift, now its very tight, on another day we could have been out of the relegation zone and looking up....football is a funny old game as Jimmy Greaves once said...there is along way to go...Sheridan isn't going anywhere so its up to him, the team, club and us to do all our best to help them stay up...

Enjoyed reading that. For me? Sheridan will keep on picking the likes of Allott and Whits. He recalls Lowry and then promptly drops him. Signs Ajose and then favours the no trick pony that is Boden. Plays with wingers but has no target man. Etc etc etc. The guys thick. Relegation is coming into view unless he drops the bias and plays the best team.

How do you know Adjose was fit to start?
Whittaker wasn't picked in the starting line up.
We had a target man and we ended up the bottom of the league and went loads of matches without winning with him in the starting line up...

And thanks for enjoying reading it...I enjoy your sensible posts however sometimes, you make pointless threads covering the stuff you have already said, and like I say there isn't need for sarcastic comments like our footballing god etc...this is what does you no favours

you may not have noticed but MDCOCKXVI is one of the knockers

"Knockers"?

Is that in terms of the Seventies reference to breasts or someone articulating reasonable criticisms?

Me? All i can say is an extremely Carry On-esque 'phwoaaaar'!

With due reverence to the 'Confessions Of' series of films, of course.

How do you ignore certain posters on here....? Any ideas anyone?

As i'm fed up of reading pointless hogwash on here...

Thanks

Don't take any notice Tyler, the ignore button is a wonderful thing and I recommend its use to save your own sanity. You end up not witnessing the stupid, childish cat fights or the repetitive, boring posts. I highly recommend it. :D

The "ignore button" is for the feeble minded. Closely followed by the points scoring system - for the feeble minded and the playground group. Its also noticeable that its the same people that say they know something about football but called this season completely wrong. Oh yes, the "happy clappers". Enjoy your love in.

No, I'm mature enough to debate with any fellow Spireite that wants to. I'll leave it to the feeble minded that choose to run away from debate to look after themselves. No doubt they're the type that have "chocolate fire gaurds", "snooze buttons on their smoke alarms" ... etc etc .... and other equally useful and obvious appliances. I'll settle to debate with the posters that have real stature and a knowledge of football. Lets be honest the other are hiding away because they got it soooooooooo wrong! At least it makes the me and the rest of the realists smile.

I'd say their reasons for ignoring you are more likely along the lines of:

'He continually focuses on and blames Allott and Whitaker'
'He repeats himself multiple times to a ridiculous point'
'He starts the same threads but differently worded all the time'

Who know's - I joined a debating board to debate. I read most posts and reply to those that interest me. As I said, It's clear the real reason is that its the "eternal optimists" that are hiding away. Why would you hide from the debate? It just makes you look weak (if not quite as weak as their arguments ;) )

Spot on Boi ..

That's why I've put him on ignore ..
You could also add his relative non appearance after anything remotely positive happens to the list or the fact that when someone does actually rise to the bait and respond with reasoned argument he then vanishes and starts another pile of bilge instead.

I've no problem with differing points of view but the repetitive & persecutory nature of his posts don't encourage debate .. They turn people off.

I think you'll find its called hiding away from the debate .... just in case their past predictions are brought up for explanation ;)

As for the ignore button being for the "feeble minded" rpl ...

Perhaps it says more about the person being ignored than the person doing the ignoring?

After all, there are god knows how many different users of this forum with pretty diverse views and I only ignore one!
