I'm a big fan of both players but wasn't overly struck with Nathan when he arrived, however it's taken him a bit of time to settle in but in the last 3 home games he's been very good.

He looks a more rounded player to me than Griff.

Pleased for Nathan & the team.

Smith's growing on me. As of now I'd say Griff is the more complete player.

I bet Crawley fans wouldn't agree with you on that one after his first 2 appearances for them.

It was obvious from the first game that Smith is a more complete and effective left back than Griffiths could ever be

Smith was stuck between bombing forward and having to cover up for Downes. Now he's got Grounds next to him he can cut loose and go forward more often. We need to dig deep and get Grounds otherwise we lose an effective Smith.

smith is far better than griffiths,in every way. Thats why smith plays his football for town in league one,and griffiths,as much as i liked him whilst here,is on loan at a league two side.

I've been saying all along he's superior to griffths and as a defender far more solid.

Not many town fans would have it and turned against him after a disjointed team effort vs preston.

He's one of our best players. Glad to see sense prevailing (at last)

Whilst he was part of the side that won the title last season i never thought signing Griff long term was a great option. He was steady but by no means this wonder left back that many proclaimed he was. Attacking wise his final ball often wasnt that great and defensively he had his problems as well. Free signing then maybe but by no means worth shelling the £150k or whatever Fry wanted. I've only seen Smith a couple of times but on those viewings he looks a better footballer and more of an athlete and the better of the two.

Sorry but Smith is far far better than Griffiths hence why he was spending the last couple of seasons playing in League 1 and had more than one League 1 club chasing him this summer whilst Griff couldnt get a game at Posh, was farmed out on loan to a league two club last season, had no one was willing to pay the over the top fee that Fry wanted in the summer and is now back out on loan at League 2 club and seen goals galore flying in on his first couple of appearances.

He cost £150k a while back now and to be honest i'm not sure why as he is a decent lower league full back but nothing else.

Sorry but you need to take these blinkers off that our whole season will succeed or fail based on whether we should have signed Smalley and Griffiths.....two players that did ok for us last season but werent wanted by their parent clubs this summer, both clubs who were in League 1 last season.
