Not sure about this maybe Stuart Basson could put me right ....

Im sure Jim McGuigan moved Holmes much further forward for one match ...possibly towards end of 68/69 season at home to Chester ...

Sure Albert wore no 8 and sure he scored at Cross Street End in a 2-0 victory

It is a long time ago and it IS entirely possible that Im talking bollux

Also seem to remember Eric Winstanley playing up fron t along side Ernie at home to Plymouth circa 1973 ...Derbyshire Times had a photo of them both in action the week later with some """"""""hilarious"""""" take on the " Eric and Ernie comedy partnership "

68/69 Yes he wore number 8,reason i can't remember is i didn't see any of that season,he played last 5 games in number 8 shirt scoring 2 goals 1 in a 2 - 0 win home v Chester,then in a 1 - 0 away win at Scunthorpe........

Cheers Keith Thanks for that me old ...I thought I was right

Cant imagine who McGuigan played at Right back when Albert ventured forward

Maybe it was the time he gave John Moyes are run at Right Back ?

You do surprise me
Hickton was predominately a Left Back Keith ... John Lumsden probably Left Back at time then

We went by 1 to 12 back then so i am assuming number 2 was right back,i can't for the life of me remember who played where apart from the obvious.....

Yes Lumsden was left back 3 shirt....
