Every response on the Swindon Echo site - glad to see back of him lol and want him sold to us at xmas

Yes but in contrast the same swindon fans were thrilled to bits about him signing for Swindon in previous threads!

I hope he signs for us because i know for sure he will put in the effort to show wednesday what they lost and with the two hundred wingers we have got he will definately get plenty of crosses to bury in the old onion bag.

no pleasing some people - we have been crying out for a centre forward, people moaning about lack of signings and too many 'wingers come forwards' signings. this guy is a striker, bit of aggression, and i think he could do a good job. cast your minds back 15 months ago, and lots were saying the same thing about davies.

Swindon Town's Leon Clarke set for Chesterfield loan
Swindon Town striker Leon Clarke is set to join Chesterfield on loan, BBC Wiltshire understands.

The 26-year-old has not played for the Robins since his fracas with manager Paolo di Canio following their Carling Cup defeat by Southampton.

After the incident Di Canio insisted Clarke, who is three weeks into his two-year contract at Swindon, would "never play" for the club again.

The deal looks set to be completed when the loan window re-opens on Thursday.

Im not sure when it was ,my mate was an academy coach at wednesday, but clarke has fallen foul of many managers it isnt an isolated incident at swindon and lets face it he hasnt hardly played or scored in the last 4 years,i just think when you are stuck down the bottom you need to pick a character who can come in inspire and galvanise a side,i dont see either of those words in clarkes cv,it looks on paper a massive massive gamble,i hope with all my heart sheridan has not made a season wrecking error because clarke will arrive on decent money regardless of swindon paying a slice

Not much of gamble really on a 3 month loan. If we'd done a Swindon and got him on a two year deal on decent money, as he wanted in the summer, then I'd agree.

Like others have said Clarke has a lot to prove and a reputation to restore, so I'm quietly confident this will turn out to be a good deal

Lets hope he's another Craig Davies in the making! Hopefully he'll realise his mistake at Swindon and knuckle down/keep his nose clean/give 110% etc.

What's slightly worrying is that he's said to be the laziest trainer and refused to do any speedwork at Swindon (hence the bust ups).
Could be his last chance in the game so let's hope he fully embraces it!

Why hasn,t he "hardly played in the last 4 years"? Injuries or not good enough to get into team?

I wouldnt be surprised if the second loan striker is signed in a couple of weeks to ensure that whilst Clarke cant stay til the window opens in Jan the other one would be able to.
