A class player with good physical pressence. When we have Mendy down one wing and Westcarr down the other will we have the CM to utilise them? My suspicion is trhat if either of these two have to be make shift strikers Mendy is the better bet.

Shez has said he would be looking to bring in a loan striker (maybe I will need to bring in two) his words in the aftermath of Jacks unfortunate injury.

Yes he does speak English.

Got to be the slimmest ever town player, his shorts were rather loose fitting

I really like him! Him and Grounds definitely look the best of the new 4. Westcarr seems a bit of a waste of space though :|

Yep £70.000 worth of wasted space!

I agree, if we signed a RB that would release Drew on the right .
God I hate this league.

Give him time to settle in man, although he's got to stop making the schoolboy error of getting caught offside. He needs a couple of goals to boost his confidence he did ok at Exeter. I think that will come when we get Morgs.playing on the left firing in the quality crosses. I wasn't over impressed with Mendy in the reserve game, but yesterday he was different class and I saw enough evidence to convince me that Shezz has signed another potential gem.

Mendy looked good to me, and could be a very big player for us as he learns how to last 90 minutes without fading so badly. Credit to JS also on Grounds, who was excellent, and Johnson, who's a neat and busy player. Westcarr looked a bit lost, as if he wasn't sure where he was meant to fit in, but let's give him a few games before passing judgement.

As is usually the norm here, we have a 6ft odd striker who cn't heaad a ball.

Lee

Talbot Holden Grounds Smith

Mattis Johnson

Randall/ Whitaker

Morgan Mendy Westcarr

An improved performance, a pity some of the new players faded. A real shame about Lester's injury, one would assume a centre-forward loanee will be sought.

My take on how the club moves forward, without another striker, would probably see Town ditch the 442 and utilise the technical attributes of Westcarr, Mendy and Morgan in a fluid front three all arrowed towards goal. How often do hopeful crosses result in goals for Town? A starting quality number nine would be good, though and necessary to be mid-table competitive. It'd see Morgan or Westcarr benched dependent upon form, I really like the look of Mendy. Whether Town has a L1 midfield for a 442, I have grave doubts, tbh.

no excuses mendy looked burned out by half time ,sheriden said he looked ok for an hour so why didnt he come off first.he didnt impress me much he didnt get the ball into the box often enough and lost out to a good fullback far too many times.

to say it was mendys first ever competitive game in england he did well. faded in the second half but that was down to match fitness more than anything. once he gets used to english football i think he will be a good signing. has good control, got pace and passing ability

most of the managers and players in the country would beg to differ, but this has been down the road before so i'll leave my comments at that.

a good start, looks like he could be useful, good in the air, knows how to beat a man and get into the box, not afraid to get stuck in, faded (badly) 2nd half but he wasn't on his own, look forward to seeing more of him.

i agree, his first half and early second half performance impressed me. he looks to be a great addition to the squad.
i'd maybe like to see him upfront and westcarr on the wing against bournemouth...assuming that no new strikers have arrived of course.
