On a scale of 1-10 how sure are you of this!?

Bare in mind that your response will be directly proportionate to your rating in terms of 1 - muppet if nothing happens now that you have made this statement!

Or was your comment that "something will happen today" in the world in general. Where, I'm sure a great many things have already happened.

Just for the record, we signed McDermott on the day before the 2009/10 season.

Keep the faith

I have resorted, again to the football rumours site. Times are REALLY bad....Wonder who from this site is responsible for these gems

Although it does appear a little busier than usual today we have:

04 Aug 2011 10:48:22
HOT FROM THE MIDLANDS

1. HESKEY/CAREW TO NOTTS COUNTY

2. HUGHES TO SHEFF WED

3. A LEICESTER STRIKER TO CHESTERFIELD

4. 3 MILIION BID FOR A MIDFIELDER T0 N.FOREST

THE REAL DEAL
X

And

04 Aug 2011 11:08:09
TOP NEWS

Chesterfield fans stand by for a shock signing
this will be the biggest in the history of the club
a ex-internatinol cant say say more

And

04 Aug 2011 10:26:16
Chesterfield will complete the signing of an un-named striker later today ahead of Saturday's game. i cant give away to much but its going to a major shock - the clue is ex england international holds the ball well

Conclusion....

Emile Heskey?!

Lol (ps the heskey bit is a joke don't worry)

Don`t say that, I wouldn`t mind if we signed Heskey. I think he`d be pretty decent in League 1, he`d get into double figures in the goal scoring table if he stayed fit enough and he`d create chances for others and he`d shut the moaners up.

I cant believe it, we dragging Sir Ian Botham out of retirement, Scunthorpe tried that about 20 years ago!!

Brilliant!

Well.

If you actually place any reliance on the rumours site (which I don't) then:

Leicester striker + england international = Darius Vassell.

Believe all of this when I see it but at least it's semi entertaining

Why not mention the CHESTERFIELD born England international? (Although he's a bit busy at the moment making England Test Cricket's number one team). (He used to play for Chesterfield Boy's after all)

I have to admit that the speculation about signings is a bit frustrating at times but to add to the annoyance of those who agree with me, I'll toss my twopeneth into the debate. First JS wont waste the Club's money unless he's satisfied that his signings add value. Point 2. The Directors wouldn't let him anyway.

As for a signing from Leicester, the speculation makes sense. Sven Gorgeous Swedishman has made a dozen signings this summer. Even if the Club is cash rich, he will need to off-load. Vassell may not attract a fee. The Foxes signed him from Turkey on a free, I think. For me, he would be a great signing and he plays JS's style of football. If there's any truth in the speculation, get in there.

ooh let me think carefully about this...

Firstly i dont give a flying tuck what rating i get because its not going to kill me. Secondly muppet is really childish and last century.

I was actually told that today was the day something would happen at the club in regards to a signing but did not want to elaborate as i would get grief from little tits. I was replying to warfey who is really fed up of waiting. So i was doing a good deed

Looks like my contact has failed me. Like many before,

Saw Tommy Wright in Tesco's earlier and after a brief discussion he told me that they were TRYING to make a signing this afternoon. Didn't want to be rude and so I didn't press him for a name, but he did say how difficult it was for the club to sign players at the moment because all of the players want to play at the "glamorous" clubs. I then said that we should be in a good position to make signings, what with the fanbase and facilities that we have to offer so it must come down to players wanting the earth to sign. Tommy said that money was very rarely the issue when it came to making signings. He is a thoroughly nice and approachable chap, although I did not have a ball at my feet, had this been the case I think his approach may have been a tad more aggressive.

Make of this what you will but it's the truth I tell thee

Cheers

Boggy :)
