Wouldn't have thought so as Sheridan would probably have sought assurances about backing from the board about team budgets I would imagine. It would be ludicrous to get a top manager and then not give him the resources to fulfill his role.
I can understand your frustration warfey. The not knowing if we are going to get good replacements is Bunkum mate.

Barry at the shareholders meeting confirmed that the player's budget would increase if we got promotion. Given this and that Brechin, Page, Gritton, Davies, Redmond, Griffiths, Morris, etc are no longer on the books (Page and Gritton would have come under last seasons budget even though they got payed up early) and we have only signed three players so far, I would hope there is still plenty of scope left for Sheridan in his budget - otherwise we are paying way over the odds for Smith and Randal.

JS is still talking about bringing in 3 or 4 more signings so there must be a lot of the budget left.

Talking is all he seems to be doing. Now taking action is a different thing. He will get some players in the big question that no one seems to be able to answer is when and how good. His principles may have harmed the the team

Trust me Warfey, the playing budget has NOT been used up.

there is.
What I think is happening here is that Les has to decide at what point he will give up on plan A before he moves to plan B.

Plan A involves a big signing that will take up most of the budget and I would guess that Player A is playing a game holding out trying to negotiate a bigger severance cheque than his current club will pay him.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on
