Iv heard Allott has drematicilly improved his shooting skills and been practicing all summer. id expect 15 from him this season.
I'll have you £20 Allott doesnt score 15 or more this season.
£20 is that all..I bet any one £500 he dont score 6

Dramatically as in he may actually score?
I know your a betting man Rob so lets have a bet on that
Go on then Leigh, £100 says Allott gets a goal.

I'd be gobsmacked if he gets into double figures. Then again he's not one of the first on the team sheet for his goalscoring.

Team for Saturday (without no additions)

LEE

TALBOT
HOLDEN
MATTIS
SMIITH

MORGAN
ALLOTT
RANDALL
WHITAKER

BOWERY
LESTER

If a striker comes in he'll replace Lester and if Ricketts signs then he'll start off on bench.

I think this formation with Morgan on the right, working with Drew, is the most sensible.

Like you say i like a bet, and that bet would be silly.

Unless you can offer me Say the same bet with Bowery (5 goals ) and lower the allott to 2

 WR midfield is a problem for JS since the departure of Smalley.Neither Morgan or Whitaker favour the right. An option is to move Drew forward and play Holden or Ford at RB.Which gives the manager the option of playing Morgan up front. The options are there, lets see which JS chooses. :glare:

Come on Rob, why bring the target of goals down and why bring Bowery into it?
Take the bet at 15 or 6 then!!
Bowery not in the equation, he is one of only 3 strikers we have so I expect he would score 5

Here is a another thought,
I would go for:

Lee

3 at the back - Downes, Holden, Ford,

2 Flying Wing backs - Talbot and Smith

3 in the middle - Whitaker, Allott, Randall,

Mattis just behind Jack

Lester up front

With this set-up (whilst we patiently await the coming of the messiah striker:) ) It gives us the strength of pace down the flanks with flying wing backs, and solid in the middle of the park. We also have Mattis playing up the park, where in the first game v Barnett (in midfield) he scored and played well, in my opinion. he is a big strong lad, quick and could knock on a few headers for Jack.

Thoughts anyone?

Well Spire, at this stage it could be worth looking at. It maybe a more solid set-up and give us a bit of a chance of holding off a few teams for awhile.

Whatever the team and formation it will be interesting to see how they play. I can't wait.

I'd be a bit worried with 3 at the back, and Smith and Drew playing a little higher up. We shipped goals (at times) alarmingly last year, but always knew we had a good chance of outscoring the opposition, until we bring a couple in, I don't think that'll be the case this year.

What have you in mind for Mattis?? A sort of Yaya Toure role??

Could he play in that way I wonder, he's certainly calm on the ball, and has the strength.
Mug?? Being wrong never gets boring!
