This is my first post. So please excuse me if it is from the heart.
As a life-long supporter of the Spireites I would like to share a few thoughts with you all. I have, as most of you have no doubt experienced, some great days and some best forgotten. The 80s comes to mind with barely 2000 watching a very poor team on a cold tuesday winter's night. Saying that, the likes of David Waller scoring a hat-trick as it poured down brought a glow to our hearts. We have had some good managers and some hopeless ones who hung on for years and probably deserved the flack from the fans they got. We had some really really poor teams and we true supports endured it regardless.
Why? Because we are true supporters of the team we chose to support come anything. We always support the team and every one who wears that shirt for town is playing for Chesterfield FC, weather they are great or hopeless, or just having a bad day. They can only grow as players if they are cheered on and supported by the fans. And so the whole team will grow in confidence and also prosper.
Last season was very special.
We waited a long tome for the ground, and now we have it.
We waited a long time for an owner who has money and has direction and has a ambition and moreover has the balls to state his goals to the fans, and now we have it.
And last but no means least, we have a clever, talented and experienced as a player, at world cup level, manager, who has dedicated his next 5 years of his promising career with us.
We have a great management team with all the coaches and back up staff, probably the best management team ever at town.
With all this in place with all these people working hard for success, does anybody on here really believe they really know more than they? Or can question their decisions?

They will do all they can to bring us Championship football in a five year timeframe. Not next year. 5 Years. I am more than happy with how things are progressing and I wish them well. I am sure signings will come when the time is right.

What you will realise if you choose to spend much time here is that the those with a negative slant are usually the loudest.

Thanks for all the plus points guys. I just hope we can all be patient during this period. Obviously it is a game of cat and mouse with clubs and agents holding out for higher fees and salaries. Then it may become a bidding war as buying clubs get desperate. Hold on. We will prosper.

How about for the opening home game all SPIRITES stand and perform the Aztec 'Greeting of the Sun Ritual' that used to be so popular at Saltergate? It has not been neccessary to perform it at the Bnet due to the abscence of any negative ley lines, but it would be a great way to greet the SPIRITES as they run out for their first home game in a new division!
To be followed by the legendary SPIRITE chant of AUM RESHNI CHAAT of course!

The 80s comes to mind with barely 2000 watching a very poor team on a cold tuesday winter's night. Saying that, the likes of David Waller scoring a hat-trick as it poured down brought a glow to our hearts. We have had some good managers and some hopeless ones who hung on for years and probably deserved the flack from the fans they got. We had some really really poor teams and we true supports endured it regardless.
Why? Because we are true supporters of the team we chose to support come anything. We always support the team and every one who wears that shirt for town is playing for Chesterfield FC, weather they are great or hopeless, or just having a bad day. They can only grow as players if they are cheered on and supported by the fans. And so the whole team will grow in confidence and also prosper.
Last season was very special.
We waited a long tome for the ground, and now we have it.
We waited a long time for an owner who has money and has direction and has a ambition and moreover has the balls to state his goals to the fans, and now we have it.
And last but no means least, we have a clever, talented and experienced as a player, at world cup level, manager, who has dedicated his next 5 years of his promising career with us.
We have a great management team with all the coaches and back up staff, probably the best management team ever at town.
With all this in place with all these people working hard for success, does anybody on here really believe they really know more than they? Or can question their decisions?
I am so so fed up of reading on this board all the constant moaning and negative comments directed towards this club!!! For God's sake people! We have just won, sorry, I will say it louder, we have JUST WON THE LEAUGUE!
Now here is the crucial bit. I AM A TRUE FAN. I AM NOT GOING TO LET THESE B@£ta@ds ruin it for us!!! I APPEAL TO ALL TRUE FANS TO GO TO THE FIRST HOME MATCH AND STAND UP FOR THE SPIREITES AND SING YOUR HEART OUT WITH PRIDE. I have confidence. Real confidence in the board and the manager. They will do all they can to bring us Championship football in a five year timeframe. Not next year. 5 Years. I am more than happy with how things are progressing and I wish them well. I am sure signings will come when the time is right.
THEY ARE NOT MUGS. PLEASE DO NOT LET THE IDIOTS WIN! Please do not let the morons who always moan and want Sheridan out because he played for Wednesday. We know they are in the crowd. A few poor results, as we wait for transfers, will bring them out, and God forbid they get to the players or the manager himself. FANS, please shout them down! Tell them what they have, and basically tell them to go and do one. Because for me they are not fans of the SPIREITES. PLEASE STAND UP FOR THE SPIREITES, sing your heart out and let's really give those players, whoever they are, all our support, as we have done for many many years.

i'm sorry but what a load of crap, we on here are ALL TRUE FANS, ALL SPIREITES, how some choose to express themselves is their right and is the purpose of this board, as for moaning yes you get some on here, but as for moaning in the ground, i have'nt heard any, nor have i heard anybody calling for sheridan out, we all support the same team and ALL STAND TOGETHER, but that does'nt mean we have to have the same views.

I tend to agree.
Whenever i hear or read talk of only those adopting an ultra-positive stance being "true fans", an assertion invariably accompanied by derision aimed at so-called "moaners", i roll my eyes skywards in exasperation.
It's true to say that following year after year of failure we're in a terrific place at the moment, a place few of us envisaged twelve short months ago. In my experience everyone - everyone - appreciates and celebrates the enormous progress made. However that doesn't mean the Club get everything right all of the time, and fans - the genuine, long standing, hard-core, paying customers without whom CFC wouldn't exist - have every right to question, discuss or even criticise when mistakes are made.
And by the way, plenty of those who adopt a conservative, pro-establishment attitude on this forum were posting highly negative comments about Sheridan following his first season in charge.
