Not my point, mate; people on here purport to know the transfer activity of our club, when actually, they know jack ######! And, now, it is getting rather annoying........some on here are annoyed by the lack of signings and get condemned for voicing their opinions, then, some on here make out we are singing whoever next week...like they have inside knowledge...guess what, nothing happens.

Must admit Mince, it drives me up the wall. I'm really positive about what lies ahead. I just wish people who can't substantiate what they've got to say would stop starting threads that are based on senseless rumour.

Why not just wait and see. That way it's more exciting when something does actually happen, instead of believing rumour and being constantly disappointed.

It could be worse......

BBC site:

Tranmere Rovers have handed striker Lucas Akins a new one-year deal, with an option for a further year.

The 22-year-old scored two goals in 38 appearances for Rovers last season following a move from Scottish side Hamilton in August 2010.

I wonder if RPL will accept its perhaps only 90 clubs who are ahead of us in the transfer activity stakes

Personally Dave, I don't . I think we'll be comfortable.

I'd like to see new faces though, but only an improvement on what we've got, and what we've got is pretty good.

Finally a good view, the team we have is more then capable of holding their own in the league, not saying play offs or better just dont believe there is not that much of a difference between the bottom half of this league and the top of league 2...

yes we do require a new striker but feel a Mid table spot is not out of reach with the current squad then ready to push for promotion the season after...

It's a case of, a signing or two would make us great, but we'll be alright with the squad now.

About 20 of the clubs in this league have struggled to sign people before now as well. Must be the market, or maybe it's everyone waiting for the same time where the squads are confirmed.

But whilst we don't have the most rounded squad, it's a squad that plays good football and has momentum as Champions.. The other sides struggling just managed promotion, or had a hard season even staying up last year.

No bodies saying that this is the squad that will take us through the season, but it'd be naive to believe that most of the others are in any better of a situation as us.
Carson Out.

Totally with you on that. It's been my view all close season though. I think we'll be just fine as we are. I don't think we'll pull up any trees, but with the RIGHT players to come in , we can certainly make a push for the play-offs, okay maybe not quite make it, but it would set us up lovely for a sustained push for promotion next season.

Apart from Huddersfield, I don't think that there is anyone at all to worry about. The Bowels are struggling for players, and if yesterday is anything to go by then they've no kids they can bring in to do a job. Blunts are in a similar situation, although they have some handy kids.
Charlton and Preston could be anything, but nothing to fear, and the rest of the teams are all pretty much of a muchness. I think we're at the top end of these other teams.

Preston are on the brink of going bust and having to get rid of players

Perhaps it's the players (or much more likely their agents) failing to accept that the market has changed and the clubs are no longer prepared to accept their extortionate salary demands and fees. Reality will strike home on saturday when they are sat at home watching TV rather than playing. I would expect a lot of signings to go through late this week and next as the agents contact clubs in a panic saying their clients wage demands have tumbled. Can you imagine the look on the face of the clerk at the dole office when a footballer pops in to sign on and explains that he turned down a job on 1k a week because he was worth 3k

That's why I said they could be anything Erniex3, they will obviously have some half decent players, because of the division they've dropped out of, but they could finish up anywhere from bottom to top.

Listening to JS on RS last night he admitted the N'Guessan was one of 4 players (strikers) he was talking to. He sounded quite relaxed and I got the impression he will only sign players who he believes are right for the club. He doesn't seem in a rush (a play off spot or relegation will not be determined in August), so if he not rushing to sign N'Guessan maybe he has got better options?

You know what they say, "act in haste and repent at your leisure", meaning I'd sooner have him sign a top player later than rushing to fill the 'vacancy' now with a player less suitable..
