Fantastic signing for me, anyone who can slate the lad before he's kicked a ball for us is bordering on er pathetic. He obviously has raw talent, something our manager er can manipulate and we could seriously have a talent on our hands, Sheridan knows what he's doing he's the man to get Mark back on track imo.

I don't think anyone has slated Randall. Quite a few have slated RPL due to his love of Randall without ever seeing him play but that's another story altogether.
I, like most fans, am more than happy with any JS signing and look forward to seeing what he can do for us and wish him a long and fruitful Spireites career.

I've not read the last page of the thread but go on then, stick it to me, I can take it :(

Haslandboi - wouldn't dream of it. As many have said on this thread Mark Randall hasn't kicked a ball for us yet. JS seems to think he has the talent but recognises both player and manager have to work hard to get his career back on track. In my opinion MR has driopped on his feet both with the club and the manager. But in the end it can go one of two ways. I wish him the best and we'll just have to wait and see.

One interesting note on the RPL / Randall debate, RPL on many a thread stated our midfield doesnt score enough goals... here though he openly wanted us to sign Randall, a midfielder that has played 38 league games at senior level and scored one goal.

Jamie_Bolsover - but what a goal :) He will have to improve on that ratio to be a good CM in my eyes

Very magnanimous of you (is that the right word), I hope he does well for us and a 1 year deal is perfect imo.

Edit: been browsing TFF and here are some comments from this thread here

One of the worst midfielders I've seen for us. Too soft, think he's Beckham, can't tackle, doesn't cover much ground.

He'll make a league career of about 4-5 years purely because he was at Arsenal but he's terrible. And a **** to go with.

Quote

Ridiculously over-rated midfielder - living off the fact he showed a bit of potential a few years ago.

Prize **** as well.

Holden was good for us.

Trust. I really wanted Randall to be good and had high hopes for him but he's useless. He'll sit 15 yards inside your own half pinging 60 yard balls at the wingers. He'll end up in the Conference or America/Australia.

Quote

Sorry - you will be disappointed. He's gash. Was outshone in a very mediocre side. Overpaid bench-warmer at this level.

Mind you, glad you've signed him.

His attitude's shocking too. He failed to show up to 2 games for us. Against Stockport and Chesterfield. The first time we paid for him to stay in a hotel but he went home without telling us and his car broke down on the way. The 2nd time, and this is pathetic - he claimed he hurt his leg on an esculator - so he didn't bother turning up!

I am wanting him to do well now just to shut them up tbh

Saw a quality comment on twitter from an Arsenal fan site. "12 months ago Randall replaced Chamakh against AC Milan in the Champions League, today he signs for Chesterfield" Very cheeky.
