To be honest none of us will know whether this is a good signing or not until the football starts. I think JS has got it spot on in the sense that the lad is facing up to whether he has the character to convert his apparent potential into a successful career as a professional footballer. Therefore, he should be hungry. I also think that JS should be a great mentor having been a top class player himself and also a good manager of players of various mindsets. I hope he does well but the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.

+1 deserved for that line alone.

Maybe RPL is airing on the side of caution... just in case... Randall has a torrid time of it here, like at RU last year???

If Randall looks a world beater after a handful of games, I expect the pie to be thrown!

He hasn't kicked a ball for us and you jokers who know everything about football and make a living out of the game are slating him. For god sake at least give him the dignity of playing before we condemn him to the football scrapheap. Well done again fellow Town fans your a credit to the club NOT.

So it's not okay when people slate him when he has signed for us, but it was okay to slate him before he signed for us?
Who put the ball in the Mansfield net? Super Jackie Lesterrrr

Ark at all these top managers and football pundits on here giving him a knock..oh wait. Just shut up moaning and having a pop til we've seen him play ey. Too many idiots on here who are way to quick to criticise. Dya really think Sheridan would of signed him if he wasnt capable of playing football at this level. Never rate i swear down.

Echo this

Until he's kicked a ball for town I reserve judgnent and give him 100% support.

To post against the lad before he has even pulled on the shirt is out of order regardless of your opinions of hoim.

If sheridan and arsene have seen ability in him...I'm happy to trust their judgment over the resident 'championship managers' on ere.

Although considerable kudos must go to RPL for predicting this momentous signing, most of the criticism was that Randall wasn't good enough. Just because we've signed him doesn't suddenly mean he IS good enough. So for all the RPL advocates, let's wait until he's actually played before we decide which side of the fence should be eating humble pie

One of the key players in this transaction will have been Les's big buddy, Ronnie Moore. He will certainly have been approached for a view on the 'potential' front.
Does anybody know whether randall is left footed?. We are desperately short on balance.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Will the club ensure he has a fuel card to ensure there's no Stockport situation again?

he didn't run out of petrol.

I'd expect as he's our player, he'd be expected to move up here

From what's been said the lad has obviously lots of potential. I fully trust Sheridan's judgement and have a feeling that Randall will be a quality signing for us.
Well done CFC on another good signing and welcome to the club Mark.

I work with both a Rotherham fan and an Arsenal one and both think he will do a decent jo for us. He made a bad start for the Millers and was supposed to have fallen out with Ronnie, which is why he didn't play that often.

A lot has been mentioned on these boards previously about the mentality of loan players against those signed on a contract, maybe now he has left Arsenal and got himself signed up on a proper contract with an ambitious club he will settle down and work hard - it's the only way he is going to make a career in football.

He says on the spireites player interview he was at the b2net to watch the Rotherham match, he was dropped from their squad, such a performance must have played a big part in his decision to join us
