We all know he had a terrible time at Rotherham and didn't want to play for them, as stated in the interview he said that Rotherham was the wrong move for him. Lets give the lad a chance and get behind him, he'll fit in perfectly here with his attacking presence.

proven what exactly? he's been on loans to crap sides and had a few ill timed injuries. lets see him in action after a full preseason and support from a good manager and staff. if you're right then fine, but he's not proven he can't hack it, total nonsense. that's like me saying you can't hack it studying at uni so you're doing an NVQ and you'll never be good in any job you go for as a result. Utter nonsense, it's about the backing you get and the guidance you receive. Just look at Alan Sugar and Richard Branson - no quals - and they're some of the leading business people. you would have written them off before they started.

As he's got older he's gone lower down the leagues - a league lower each season, what an achivement.

If he proves me wrong then great but I'm not holding my breath.

Have to agree on the funniest signing ever, I nearly spat a mouthful of coffee all over my desk when I saw the thread come up!!!

I immediately thought of RPL, hes gonna make us eat our words, or, if the kid does poorly for us, hes gonna come in for some stick.

Now the lad has pulled on the Blue, Im hoping I eat humble pie and he proves me wrong!

So did Craig Davies until he came to us. Give him a chance FFS how many bad signings has Shez made.

Judging the state of the Millers and the attitude of their fans, I reckon even Fabregas would have struggled there

I never really understood Victor Meldrew’s catchphrase, “I don’t believe it”, until now, WTF. I am thinking of disliking him on principal, it is going to take a hat trick against the Blunts and the Bowels, home and away, to begin to repair my self-esteem after this. R2D2, master football pundit, OMG, I must be “through the looking glass”, where is the “Mad Hatter” I need a cup of tea or something stronger, got to lie down in a darkened room until the world makes sense again. I want to believe, I want to believe, I want to……………..

RIP42 must be over the moon!!

To be fair I'm not one of the ones who was totally against him coming here, as some have seemed to be whenever RPL has mentioned him, although he didn't really tear up any trees at Rothrum last season.
So the jury's out I suppose.

He'd feel a lot better had we parted with £250K for Randall!

Im definately in it, although nothing to be ashamed about yet, as the threads/arguments where that Rotherham and Shrewsbury had shown us the way by signing Randall and co, whilst out lack of transfer activity would see us fail miserably in the run in!

Three months later, we were Champions, Rotherham & Shrews melted, so I dont think any of us would be suffering any shame.... I do think the signing is awfully funny however.

Not at this rapid rate, though.

I trust Sheridan, of course I do, he's just won us the league and I think he's being clever by only handing the lad a 1 year deal. We'll see how he does, fingers crossed he does well.

But to ask 'how many bad signings has Shez made' is a bit silly, remember when we dug that thread up, there were loads of comments by regular posters basically saying Sheridan was a terrible manager and a failure lol.

I remember saying something like 'Sheridan won't sign him because he's not an idiot'.

Although considerable kudos must go to RPL for predicting this momentous signing, most of the criticism was that Randall wasn't good enough. Just because we've signed him doesn't suddenly mean he IS good enough. So for all the RPL advocates, let's wait until he's actually played before we decide which side of the fence should be eating humble pie

well done RPL. Sheridan knows what he is doing, more so than anyone else on this board. How Haslandboi can be so negative, Mark Randall is still only 21 but played at high level. The Rotherham Mad comments are just sour grapes, if he was signing for them he would be Paul Scholes. Reading between the lines he obviously he didnt hit it off, However Ronnie Moore wanted to sign him permanently despite not having played that much because of injury. He has quality otherwise Arsen Wenger would not have looked at him.

To be honest none of us will know whether this is a good signing or not until the football starts. I think JS has got it spot on in the sense that the lad is facing up to whether he has the character to convert his apparent potential into a successful career as a professional footballer. Therefore, he should be hungry. I also think that JS should be a great mentor having been a top class player himself and also a good manager of players of various mindsets. I hope he does well but the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.

You couldn't write this stuff better. RPL getting saluted for identifying this one. Fair play, interesting to see so many not be so agressive against the signing now. Big welcome to CFC to RPL's son ;) I hope he can reignite the potential he was showing at Arsenal. (i'm so going to laugh all day about this) Hey RPL, how big is that humble pie you're baking for everyone! lol

As a ball playing midfielder there are a hell of a lot worse managers the lad could be playing under.

The kid has a lot to prove and maybe now not having the safety net of his Arsenal contract to fall back on like he had with the loan moves may be the kick up the backside he needs. Its not difficult to see that his career has been going backwards and it is a bit of a gamble by Sheridan that he can turn it around. We have to hope Sheridan is right.

He hasn't kicked a ball for us and you jokers who know everything about football and make a living out of the game are slating him. For god sake at least give him the dignity of playing before we condemn him to the football scrapheap. Well done again fellow Town fans your a credit to the club NOT.
