Means just that, he has a championship club interested in him.
God I hate this league.

Sorry, should've included this in my earlier 'whisper' thread.

I'm told we're behind a number of larger and/or Championship outfits in the queue for his signature.

From what i've heard, it's highly unlikely he'll become a Town player.

News:
Some more news from League Two and Clayton Donaldson's agent says the Crewe Alexandra striker is not looking to play in that division next season. Crewe have offered Donaldson a new contract, while Bradford and Crawley are also interested, but Chesterfield are favourites to secure his signature.

If CFC didn't get Donaldson, and looking at the lists of the tiop scoreres from the Champ/L1 & L2 - who else could CFC afford that would be recognised as a reliable 20+ goal per season man?

I'm surprised championship clubs are interested as he's no spring chicken.

This is the article from where the story is taken from, no mention of championship clubs. My take on this is the agent has fed the story to see if there is any late interest before he signs for us.

Crewe Alex: Donaldson snub for moneybags Crawley
Saturday, June 18, 2011Posted ImageThe Sentinel

FollowCLAYTON Donaldson has rejected a move to money-bags Crawley Town.

The Crewe striker has attracted sufficient interest from League One clubs to snub the Football League newcomers, who have been installed as favourites for the League Two title by most bookmakers.

But Donaldson is expected to make a decision on his future in the next week, with Chesterfield highly fancied to land the 27-year-old's signature.

It seems certain now he won't be returning to Gresty Road, despite the offer of a generous slice of any future transfer fee if he signed a new contract.

"Clayton is not looking to play in League Two," said his agent, Andy Sprott.

I'd like to take Cody McDonald on loan from Norwich for a season...He won't feature in Norwich plans now they have been promoted...he needs a step up from league two and only has a year left on his contract....

Would a forward line of

Talbot Lester/McDonald Donaldson Morgan have the flair to get us promoted or push for a play off place...you sure bet it would...

Not a bad forward line up if we could get Donaldson free and McDonald on loan for the season...

There's certainly a common thread linking Donaldson to CFC in many reports, what's more when a player's name appears in the DT it usually means he's pretty much nailed. My source has been wrong often enough and maybe this is another of those occasions, however his tone was distinctly pessimistic this morning.

Time will tell.

Oldham are reported to be after McDonald on a permanent deal, we should be able to compete with them easily enough

What makes me laugh with that is the fact they think a swap deal would be do-able....why would Norwich want any Oldham player, none that I could think of...

My God I'm supposed to be the negative one but you are so bad I am beginning to wonder why I have bought a ST at all. Was Davis a recognised 20+ goals a season man?
