What's all the big fuss about with the police? Is anyone seriously even contemplating causing trouble tomorrow? We don't have any history with them and we've always found them a decent set of fans to have drink and a bit of banter with. Now if it was Shrewsbury I'd be planning ahead after the little spat at our place, we can't even call Burton local rivals.

Not compared to the Cooper's it's not.

Anyway, I'll be dry tomorrow. Just picked up my standing ticket from cfc8801 (cheers mate) and as it's a late decision to go and all usual match goers are unable to go I'll probably drive myself and leave home at half one-ish.

No doubt in my mind that we are getting the rough end of the stick after Grimsby's visit to Burton at the end of last season when there was a lot of trouble. They've also had visits this season from Vale and Oxford who both turned up in numbers. I suspect that the police are trying to prove they're on the ball - to our detriment, i'm afraid, despite the trouble-free record i think there's been in the encounters we've had with the Brewers.

I'm driving tomorrow, but the old man will want a slurp somewhere. Given the Burton overreaction i'll recommend we call in at Derby. Sad really, but i don't want to take the risk of being messed about.

What happens to the pubs that have been told to shut if heaven forbid the match is off for the weather, can the licensees claim compensation for this restraint of trade ????

Got mine in advance so I can save on bus fare into Chesterfield from Boza on leg 1 of the journey

Planning on buying a wayfarer, also planning on going on the 13.06 train that goes straight to Burton, just checked the website though and unsure if it can be used as it just says this about the train:

Edit: ...although went last year and definately didn't change at Derby, and bought a wayfarer, so i am probably worrying about nothing.

With a Wayfarer you can get any train from inside Derbyshire that stops at Burton, whether you change at Derby or not.

Edit ... last time no-one checked my ticket at all except just after leaving Dronfield ...
