Watching coverage of the Gunners' unexpected Champions' League defeat yesterday, i couldn't help noticing the similarites between what's so often said about them, and what's become increasingly applicable to ourselves.

'Attractive, attacking football...excellent passing side...pleasure to watch...capable of hammering opponents...goals throughout the team...'

but then on the other hand

'...vulnerable to the sucker punch...concede too many soft goals...rarely keep clean sheets...drop points when they shouldn't...'

and of course

'...need a tough tackling midfielder and a dominant center back to really succeed'.

Now i guess there couldn't be two more different individuals than Sheridan and Wenger, but in the midst of Tuesday evening's disappointment hangover i took a degree of solace from knowing we're in good company when it comes to our shortcomings.

Not entirely sure about your comparison, if fact I think the only comparison we have with the gooners is that we both have new grounds and managers that rarely smile.

Come the end of the season I will take no solace whatsoever if we haven't won the league and been promoted if Arsenal haven't.

dont arsenal allways beat the lower teams and fail against the better teams,we seem to be the opposite but i know where your coming from

I would like to think our 'off field' ways will be a minature of those of Arsenal, ie no daft spending, no unserviceable loans, making a nice profit for future investment from the back of sound income streams.

Clubs own income sustains the football without a sugar daddy or Co-Op loans.
