Does anyone on here play this game? cant believe how addicted I am to this, was disapointed to see on my game that Sheridan got sacked after 16 games in charge and Chesterfield lying in 18th (unrealistic) but the game has been realistic in all other ways, oh and apart from the badge being wrong

Yeah I noticed that when watching the programme, mind you we have changed the badge about 5 times in last 10 years so can't blame them. Don't ever remember having that badge on sky tv though with Red background, looked horrible. Loving the new badge though. Looking forward to the Torquay game.

I can't use Chesterfield on any Football Manager due to the majority of the squad being underrated. Mark Allott with a passing rating of 8 out of 20? No thanks.

Chesterfield always do terrible when an AI manager manages them for some reason, although they made it to the Championship on FM10 for me. That was a one off.

I'm currently doing the Unemployment Challenge which is where you start off unemployed with your reputation as 'Sunday League' and look for jobs. I managed to get a job at Aberystwyth in the Welsh Premiership and have won the league both seasons. I lost 4-3 on aggregate against Malmo in Europe though :(

That is a hard job, I tried to do a similar thing but with a higher rating and got a job at Derby County :( they went down lol but I secured a job at relegated Bolton and got them into play off's. Loving the new version but the B****Y press meetings become repetitive.

Currently I restarted (because of an updated database on Steam) and took control of Man Utd (for my sins) currently top after 22 games by 7 points. Top of group in CL, out of League Cup but in 4th round of FA and had just beaten Chelsea away.

Only signings so far have been G. Bale and Dzeko

I can't play as the top teams, it gets boring for me.

I got Burton *spit* to the Premiership in FM08, failed miserably in everything I did on FM09 so I just went as Celtic and won the league every season and got Tooting & Mitcham from the Isthmian Premier Division (below the conference) to the Championship on FM10.

I should take Sheridan's job tbh.

 If you got us to Championship I'd root for ya.

I like to manage someone like Man Utd and get a feel for everything then once my rep goes up I can move to another club, over achieve and look like a hero :D I do prefer managing bigger clubs though but that's probably me glory hunting ;)

Finished like 10th with town so quit and started again with Blackpool, finished 16th in the Prem and then joined Evertons, currently 6th. Lower leagues too hard at the moment til i get used to the game and find the gems!
Town, Town will tear you apart..again!

got in top 4 of premiership on 2010 and stopped playing. signed morgan and adomah in second season of l2 after finishing 10th they played all the way to prem in consecative seasons and still turning in 8+ but got fed up once no players were town players.
this years sucks big time the ratings are poor too much messing with tactics and set pieces, was top 3 all season then lost 11 on trot to end the season lol.

have no interest in the game unless playing as town manager and once the players all retire or arnt good enough as you progress up the leagues i lose interest.
my opinion is always right. But then so is yours. Guess that's opinions

The Badge isn't Wrong in FM!
(see attachment)Attached File  cfc FM Badge.png (161.58K)
Number of downloads: 17
I sent the head of research the badge the morning it was announced, they already had it in the game!

By the way it's me that you complain at for the stats.
The game will reduce / increase stats as it sees fit on start up. so what i submit might not appear the same in everyone's game.

I agree about the low stats but, frankly, thats the players fault. I only get to rate players in certain ranges depending on where the club finished in the table, i've had to down rate them year on year for ages, nothing is more demoralising . The rating are complicated again by the fact that attributes are weighted, so if a winger has good pace/ acceleration/ Crossing ratings, you'll have no points left for anything else.

As for allot, 8 is decent passing for L2 But the electronic Allott has really good ratings for some stats you can't see, composure, concentration, consistency and decisions. I used him all the way through my promotion from L2 in FM11 (top for ages then injuries to davies, lester, talbot and mattis put a dent in that and went up through the play-offs) .

I have to do the mid-season update in a month or so, so any changes you want, please post em here. remember a 10 is above average for our division.
I know that most of the new guys / Loans need sorting, most of them i haven't had in my file yet.
Also i need to get them to tweak the attendances, They are correct in League 1, but too low while battling in L2.
Also in the next submission I'll be able to increase their ratings to top of the league status, assuming the lads keep doing the business on the pitch.

Yeah I've heard about the certain amount of allocated points thing before. If that is the case, why is Mattis such a beast?

And you can see Composure, Decision making and Concentration, they're not hidden. His mental stats are very good but I just can't stand seeing his passing like that :(

Niven's passing is 4 lol. I've signed him for Aberystwyth. I imagine his high stats for work rate, team work, determination and tackling will be good in the Welsh Prem.

Ha! Mattis was left above our rating scale for two reasons, firstly because the Walsall researcher was absolutely FURIOUS about him being released and partly due to my insistence we would be better than mid table this year, so the head researcher allowed him as few exceptions to our scale .

To give you an idea: each player is rated overall in current ability and potential ability from 1 to 200. current is how good is he now, potential is how good he could be in ideal circumstances.

For Chesterfield last season we were rated in the 2nd bracket of League 2 for finishing between 4th and 11th.
This means we should have 3 star players rated between 76-95 and the rest of the squad between 61 and 75.
The general rule is that if a player is rated at 90, then his attributes should average out at 9 out of 20 each, except of course for the weightings i mentioned earlier.

If anyone wants a look at our file, PM me and i'll email you some more details.

Btw, the only thing i did for town to get us promoted, was play 4-4-2 but with morgan pushed up into AML because whoever did his stats didn't fill in a Left midfield rating for him. Mattis wasn't rated as a central defender either but i was just in time to get a quick fix in for the release patch.

The problem I find with Town is that the budget isn't relative to how we are now. We're easily one of the best teams (financially) in the division and I don't think we have enough leeway in terms of budget... but that might be me being greedy, I've not compared us directly with the other teams in the league.

And we don't have Griffiths on loan, Robertson starts out crocked so you're left with Morris and Whittaker for the left hand side (who isn't listed as natural or even accomplished in that position)... and does Morgan work down the left? I thought he was only listed as a striker?

And Hunt is rated terribly.. and then you've got Breckin and Page wittling away at the wage budget...

Question: Is there something wrong with the money valuations of players in this year's edition? Scott Boden is worth about 120k and Bowery is worth about 100k I think... surely if you put them up for sale you won't get these amounts of money for them?

The badge on my game is wrong for Chesterfield unless I download the badge and add it myself like the premier kits.

The game is top I love it at the moment, (dont think the gf does mind).

Jack Hunts rating is a travesty.
I guess the huddy researcher hadn't seen him before. Rated at 61 with potential of an average L1/ good L2 player.
That will be fixed.
electronic Morgan can play AML just fine, just Not ML.

Chesterfield have a rating of 20/20 regarding conference / banqueting takings for a club in our league. but it's attendances i need get them to sort.

I thought the wage budget was a bit tight too, but i helped that by getting rid of a couple of players.
I bought in Kelvin Lomax for free and a left back on loan from sunderland for no wages for the year and that was about it.
Oh and a new central defender in january. who weirdly got food poisoning the minute i started reading Chris' post about choking on his toxic rice.

The next season there was loads of cash available for shiny new players!

Dean, did you get the patch that came out on the first day it was released?
All i did was install the game, get the patch, installed that, started the game and the new badge has been there from the off.
SI have had the new badge since the 14th of june so i'm surprised that the old one was on the disk!

Now that is a conspiracy.

Can you explain the strangely high valuations (money wise) for Boden and Bowery?

And I remember playing the demo and Craig Davies missing 3 open nets in about 5 games :( That's probably put me off a bit! I'll have to start as Town soon, I say before I get every new FM game that I'll take them to the Premiership but I never do it.

Davies put 30 away for me in my first season,
I set the team up as the real one. Davies as an advanced forward and lester as a deep lying support forward. Ker and Ching. Later into season Boden really took over from lester, i just couldn't stop him scoring.
e-Morgan had the same issue with me, i gave in and stopped trying to retrain him and he was much happier.

In the second season every manger has mind gamed davies into a nervous wreck. every time they say they have to stop him it drops his morale, he's been stuck on low or very low for the first half of the second season. I'm currently hiding him in the reserves to see if the other managers will ignore him!

The high valuations for bowery and boden are the same for all youngersters in the game, I think a mix of the fact they are under contract young and you pay for potential, plus the fact you can't just nick them when there is 6 months on the their contract left.
The game makes the valuations up, not something I have much control over.
