Unsurprising as this is the second time he's jacked in a job pretty quickly and would be a massive gamble for anyone to take on now.

No comment from the Managers' Association yet, then; normally they're among the first to go on SSN shouting the odds when a guy is sacked. Not a peep when a manager lets a side down big-time - again.

I very much doubt he will be wanting his full pay like the rest of them get,at least he is honest if he stayed there they could get relegated....

Give over Stuart. Would you take the same attitude if it were you being sacked/resigning from your job? Managers are always the fall guys when things go wrong. Only a handful of teams can win trophies at the end of the season, while mathematics say that 46 teams have to finish in the bottom half of their respective League tables. That doesn't make all 46 failures but time and again we see clubs sack the boss, bring in another one as a Messiah and then give him the boot as well 18 months or so down the line. If Coppell hadn't walked then he would have been a certainty for the axe if his team had failed to get near the play-offs, like Danny Wilson and Gary Johnson at Ashton Gate before him.

Steve Coppell doesn't owe Bristol City any more loyalty than you or I owe to our employers so knock off the bull, eh?

I read it as a pop at the LMA rather than Coppell.....they are normally shouting from the rooftops about managers getting sacked etc but nowhere to be seen when something like this happens.

Unless he had a clause in his deal, he will get nothing as he has resigned.

Managers get a pay off or the wages from the remainder of their deals when they are sacked mid-contract (and rightly so)

They are the nearest thing managers have to a union, Jon. If I got the sack I'd expect my union to take my side. I wouldn't expect them to go all hearts and flowers on my boss's side if I decided to quit, so I don't know why Stuart would expect them to express sympathy with a club, especially one (and this by no means whatever applies just to Bristol City) which has a history of sacking their managers every few years. That's not the LMA's role.
