It was my first visit last night, although it felt like I had been before after having watched the webcam every day from when it went online! My mum came along too-her second game in 10 years or so!
Parked very easily on the road next to the Crown and Anchor- I bet the landlord there is a happy chap. Felt very excited walking to the ground, had a quick look at the bricks and then went the long way round (past the North stand) to the East stand. Very impressed with the concourse although it didn't seem big enough at half time! Am I right in saying they only serve pints at the end? This would be an issue if away fans are in there. Was a little worried about sitting on row B but I enjoyed watching the match from there- the pitch looks fantastic.
I too spent a lot of time looking around during the match- the ground looks even better in real life. Other fans may slag it off- the identikit stadium, but I am sure that they will be envious without admitting it. At this time there isn't a new stadium like it and Colchester's and Shrewsbury's grounds are nothing in comparison. A huge well done to everyone involved.
Thoroughly enjoyed the game and have high expectations of our new team- from what I saw last night there is a great improvement on last season. As a centre half myself I thought Ford was superb and was mightily impressed with Whitaker, Mattis, Hunt and Griffiths- all Sheridan signings! I hope that Griffiths enjoys his month here and decides to stay longer. Let's hope that we start with the finishing line up and formation on Saturday.
Atmoshere was brilliant in the second half- well done to the South stand. There were loads joining in with me in the East stand.
Last night the b2net made me forget about Saltergate and I am so looking forward to my next visit. I normally go to more away games than home ones but this season, apart from Cheltenham and Hereford away, I will be sampling as many different parts of the ground as possible. I have almost persuaded my wife and 2 daughters to come with me to my next visit- probably the Lincoln game so I hope they will be as impressed as I was last night.

Hi Chris glad you enjoyed your first experience, I went to the Derby and Barnet games and will be going to the Hereford game. Will you going and coming straight back or will you be staying the weekend. If you do any straight turn arounds and you want some company and fuel money give me a shout.

This was covered on another thread recently on here....apparently they are adding draught beer pumps to the bar at the other end of the stand to sort this for future games when away fans use that part of the ground.

OK, the only thing is, you may have sussed who I am but I aint so sure as to who you are, unless like me you have a bald head?

Mr Pike's excursions where amazing, you usually had to add an hour and a half to the expected journey time!!

Still aint sussed out who you are yet!!! But yes, I will be in East (far end near away) for most of the games and I might do the odd game in Family when the young un goes, that said, its only £2 extra to take young un to East far end so may stick with that, Im away for Hereford game, camping with 40 odd others from Boza but will return for Lincoln game in East Stand, Mrs & Kid going to that one too!

Great post, this out to be on the main site as living proof of what this new era really means for the football club.

Totally agree S18 what an advert it should be in the DT too.

Top post and could not agree more don't think I have been more proud to be a Spireite after 42 years than every time I see the b2net.

Congratulations to all involved and welcome back Jamie
