Now i've had a couple of games to 'settle in', so to speak, i thought i'd say this.

Excellent leg room. How many times have we emerged from a ground with bruised shins and knees 'cos we've been so tightly crammed in? None of that at our new gaff, infact even as a chap of 5'11' (ish) i could lean back and view the game in comfort.

Exiting the stadium was a doddle. Of course getting out of our seats took a few minutes, but despite a reasonably large crowd it was then straight through the main doors and away.

The East Stand will undoubtably become the 'Sun Tan Stand' or even the 'Sun Trap', as you're bathed in the Sun's rays meaning shades are now an essential item when attending. (Note to Alan Stephenson: investigate sponsorship deals with well known sun cream manufacturers.)

On the other hand i found the 'b2net' at night an eerie, though not unappealing venue. Walking up the darkened Sanforth Street amidst columns of other fans, i looked back and down to see a brightly lit arena that, probably for the first time, brought a genuine warmth to my chest. The clean, neat, modern lines; the blue seats, the green pitch, all illuminated against a black back-drop...yeah, it definitely has a certain something.

All in all the place is growing on me.

My third visit and was in the boozer opposite West Stand and still, after 2 previous visits, found myself with pint in hand gazing out of the window at the her (the stadium not some random blonde), almost in a trance I was... I love the place.

I just cannot see how anyone would say they prefer Saltergate.
A new hope.

Spot on Chris!!

The b2net already feels like home and the atmosphere last night was brilliant. I failed to get my season ticket seat for last night so i opted for the west stand wing near the kop. I thought i would be surrounded by lifeless souls who would not join in with the singing but alas they joined in with the kop. Thoroughly enjoyed the pies and supping the beer in the concourse while watching sky sports was perfect. I would add that i am more than impressed with the beer prices in the ground as the donkey derby upped its prices according to a few of the lads.
all in all im a happy boy and i took er indoors last night which might be a faux pas as she was well impressed by the ground experience.
PS I am however nervous when passing through tesco car park after your escapade.
Non league refs WOW

Death

Remember the artists impression when we first heard that a move could be on the cards? The impression of a massive kop at Saltergate grand entrance and all that, I was so for that and so against a move to a new ground.

Three games in and I COULD NOT BE MORE WRONG. I love the place to bits and it has a wonderful look and feel.

Can't wait for Saturday to sit at Vale Park and thank my lucky stars for the B2NET. :)

Only team announcing which you can't here as clearly as the deedah, is that a ploy to oust Howard altogether so Dave Allen's deedahs can take over lock, stock and barrel?

Can you elaborate on what you 'did not like' about the place, I feel different about the place but each to their own, so interested in what you didnt like about it?

It was my first visit last night and cant find anything bad to say only thing i can say is wow i was on row d in the kop 4 rows from the front one thing i notice between saltergate and the new place is that from where we was its seems closer to the pitch and as for all those that have wrote on here that the atmosphere will be like a souless mourge how wrong can you be i can never remember the kop at saltergate being that lound.

Another thing is that the bus service is the best thing the club has done last night the game finished about 9.35 got straight outside two double deckers were waiting and we got into town just after 9.40 so very good all in all as much as i will miss saltergate even i never imagined the new place would be this good. Looks good fro the outside 10 or even 100 times better on match day.

I was worried that the atmosphere would be lost at the b2net.

I used to stand in the Kop at Saltergate now I now have a season ticket in the centre stand (HTM) and looking across at the kop when it is in full voice sends a shiver down my spine.
Instead of a few fans behind the goal singing, now the whole kop is rocking.

I'm loving it.

I keep doing that too, with everyone sat down and the great views there's a lot more to look at when the football on the pitch isn't that entertaining.

I've been to all the games so far at the B2net and it still doesn't seem real yet, everything is just so different to it was at Saltergate, it's still like a dream, we don't even have to travel through the town centre anymore to get there.

If you thought that was bad you should have been to the Derby game, or been on the kop against Barnet. The new bloke does the stuff that can be done in the PA box, Howard does the stuff like substitutions and time added on that is better, and quicker when does pitch side. A good idea in my opinion, saves lots of faffing about relaying information.
