reading in todays NLP that Danny Williams is now (at 29) player coach at Belgian 4th division club Royal Racing Club Montegnee. I'd never heard of them either.

Does anybody know what the standard there is likely to be? Does it compare to our league or is it on a par with Matlock's league?

Mark Debolla is coaching in the USA. It seems he never fully recovered from his ankle injury

Well above Matlock's level going from the number of foreign players they have including a Brazilian and 6 uk born players.

Kevin Austen now on trial at Darlo - seems to have options!

http://www.darlingtonandstocktontimes.co.u...presses_Austin/?

and Martin Gritton impresses (and scores) for Torquay

http://www.thisisdevon.co.uk/football/UNIT...il/article.html?

like the quote

"A feature of United's display was the classy leadership of their attack by loan signing Martin Gritton."

He will do a job at this level if you want to stay in the division. If you want a promotion side, then I doubt Gritton is the sort of player you would be looking for.
A new hope.

Think it'd be more to do with his record at scoring peno's and our miss rate since he left. Can't be the only player in the world who can score penalties though, we just need to find someone who's good from the spot AND open play - which conlon wasn't.

Good luck to him. One of Chesterfield's better servants in recent seasons. Hard to make a proper judgement on his ability when there has been few quality players to compare him to.

Even when he had a bad game his effort and work rate was always good.

awful? maybe he isnt the best but awful is just a plain ridiculous comment. He was the only player in our team last season who could take a blasted penalty, the amount of points he got us thanks to his confidence from the spot helped us get closer to a play off place.

I wouldnt expect him to be here as a first teamer but as a sub or a backup player. He could certainly provide stiffer competition for places than the likes of bowery and boden.
