Great to see the story on the main site about Brampton Brewery preserving a little corner of Saltergate at the Rose and Crown. I was lucky enough to visit there for a few refreshing ales when I was back in town in April and it is already a quality boozer. I had no idea that Chris Radford was the gaffer at the brewery but that would certainly explain the enthusiasm for a bit of Saltergate nostalgia down there.

Just a thought, have they been approached about supplying beer for the new ground? I know that a plastic cup is hardly the best way to appreciate a fine ale but I imagine that it would appeal to a lot of people more than a pint of fizzy beer would ( not that there's anything wrong with that if that's your sort of thing). If the idea is to get folk supping in the stadium before a match rather than in the pub then offering them something out of the ordinary (from drinking at a footy ground point of view) would surely be a good idea. I bet there aren't too many clubs that have their own beer festival at each home match anyway!
These pretzels are making me thirsty!

I think somebody suggested there would be some form of real ale at the ground on here a few months ago, but i asked Mike Warner and Alan Walters about it when i was picking my seat, they said Coors were supplying the ale for the ground and they didn't think there'd be any real ale. Agree it would be quality if Brampton could get involved somewhere at the b2net.
The greatest miscarriage of justice since my case against the producers of the Never Ending Story

Totally disagree...it would be a disaster for my wallet and waistline, plus it might be too tempting to stand below stairs supping and not watch the game!!

Iv been told that Chris owns the company, and others have put money in to get the company up and running. Would imagine that he will still be involved in other projects

pretty sure he is no longer a director but still in close contact with the club,he travels up there a few times every season and still has his annual match between his Sunday league boys and a stenhousemuir eleven.

I've been reading a book about a chap who went to all 42 Scottish league grounds in a season, he mentioned that there was a town pennant at Stenhousemuir and I wondered how on earth it had got there. I think I can guess at the answer now!

I went to the Brampton brewery last night and one of the guys there told us they will be selling their beers in the different 'lounges' (legends lounge) etc initially, but because as someone mentioned earlier coors seem to have got the 'draft' side of the concourses already sewn up so if they wanted to sell bottles in the 'concourse' bar areas they would have to be in 'plastic' bottles.
