3pts are vital at Chelts. but it will be very tough. Baz and Niv need to start (as Soph says), will Lewis come into the squad now Green as gone?

There's one place spare on the bench from last week, not sure who'll get the nod, can't see it being Lewis, probably going to be one of Madine, Hall, Gritton or Harsley, in that order.

i can understand that, and i know how much of a target man conlon is compared to gritton. however, after watching conlon at the weekend against the shots i would just be tempted to give gritton a try. i can only comment on the last few home games but the last few games i have seen conlon play he didnt seem to be winning many balls, especially on saturday. the games i have seen gritton in this season he was winning much more in the air and seems to have massively improved his ability to hold the ball up and bring others into play, which could work to our benefit if we pair him with someone like small or talbot. in the home game when JS started conlon and gritton as a pairing, (i forget the team we played) gritton IMO seemed the far better player. but i guess thats why i am sat here and JS is the manager :D haha

That's the way I saw it as well. If the team were being picked on the evidence of those two games, then Gritton would be the regular player with Conlon on the bench.
We don't know the full story behind the Gritton saga, but I can't help but feel he's being wasted.

it would be good to think as he's here for three years we are getting our money's worth out of him rather than him just being another wasted buy & wage, however i wouldn't drop Talbot and Conlon has done well enough most of the time, i would utilise Gritton when Conlon looks tired though, i'd definately have him on the bench as an option, in quite a few games this season i can't help but think if gritts would have been on the bench we may have got more out of the game. He isn't going to play well every game but he'd be useful as super sub number two (along with Boden).

Returning to the polemic of the thread, i have to agree.

If things have genuinely changed at CFC and the budget Sheridan enjoys isn't to be wasted then we really should be beating the likes of Cheltenham.

Or securing a point at the very minimum.

Yesterday's signing once again underlines the difference between ourselves and most of our rivals; it's now time for the Manager to turn that superiority into promotion.
