If criteria of apearances is coming into it and a servant of the club why not Jamie Hewitt ?

I mean he has done more for CFC than Gordon Banks :(

I tell you what, that aint a bad idea, i cant think of a more iconic picture of chesterfield fc's recent history than the one of jamie hewitt wheeling away after his equaliser at old trafford!and now he is still at the club in a physiotherapy capacity, what a servant!!!

I can however say im glad we dont have to watch his legendary floated corners anymore :D lol, can anyone remember us ever actually scoring from one of those???

The Duke of Dev would be most welcome if he'd put into the club the same proportion of wealth as your average season ticket holder has done over the years.

Should be OK then as he buys season tickets every year, and more than one, even if he doesn't use them his self.

I wish those that do use the tickets would introduce themselves to running water and soap.

Barabas! Yes!! That would be brilliant, think of the positivity he could instill in the ground if he was responsible for declaring it open.

Eddymelt wins the prize for the best suggestion so far :D
Don't worry what people think, they don't do it very often.

Hmmm, but wouldn't this ceremony have to be at midnight of the Equinox, with lots of white pointy robes, monotone incantations and a sacrificial virgin?

To be honest i'd prefer that to someone who's a hundred and something in line to the Throne surrounded by a load of champagne quaffing hangers-on: but where the hell would we find a virgin at that hour?

I don't have a problem with the Duke or with Jamie Hewitt doing the honours. Here's another idea though - what about giving everyone who attends the next three home matches a special voucher and then letting all those with three vouchers enter a raffle with the prize being the right to cut the ribbon? That might not attract a load of media attention (who cares anyway what the national press think) but it would guarantee a life-long memory for one lucky fan. Thoughts anyone?
If nothing acts faster than anadin, why do we buy anadin?

Can you honestly see the Club's regime allowing an 'outsider' to do the honours?

Nah, me neither.

Infact whatever happened to the scheme where two (i think) CFSS members would be selected to occupy a seat in the Director's Box at every game?

I'll say it one more time: Gordon Banks, national icon, started his career at Town, sure to attract the sort of media attention that b2net are looking for, and not a silver spoon in sight.

Maybe not but then again when was the last time Gordon Banks set foot inside Saltergate?

Williams, Dyche, Breckin, Holland all regular scorers from his corners.

Usually at the end of the first half
