Funny old game isn't it? Truly

All woe after Rotherham and now 3 on the bounce with odd teams, odd formations and the odd stroke of luck to boot

Nothing this year is going to be straightforward

Our habit of not drawing's a decent one as it's enabled us to lose lots and still be in contention.

Must say I'm worried about Downes though. As worried as I am re Lester if not more so.

Just read this on the report

Dan Gray was booked for dwelling too long with ball before taking a through in.

I wonder if it was as long as all the time they're allowing Delap to take throw-INS these days? Was only thinking this recently, now that everyone knows what's coming with Delap they just stand by and wait till he's ready and let it go ahead. Ridiculous.

When stoke was on telly a couple off weeks ago, They was timing how long it took delap to take a throw in & it was 30 seconds , i bet gray was'nt taking as long.

ah interesting, seems I wasn't alone. I suppose they would argue DG was doing it purposely to waste time, but still, it needs to be looked at.

About 10 seconds at the most I would have said. I've seen slower throw-ins in the first half - ridiculous booking.
Though to be fair the ref was excellent otherwise - and fastest decisions and bookings I've ever seen.

Really? Well I try to take an un -biased view and I thought he was superb throughout, apart from the booking of Gray. And to be fair, that did cut out even the very modest amount of time-wasting we were trying on.

The booking wasn't given for that one throw in. He had been consistently taking his time with throw-ins and had been warned by the referee to speed them up. He ignored that warning and got booked.

Strange really when a player of a team who are losing who dwells on a throw in never gets booked, what is the difference !!!

Had more possession in injury time than rest of the game, 2 good chances a minute or two ago!

Not really good chances,

Fair enough then - but compared to some of the time-wasting that we've seen at Saltergate we were positively tearing around.

If we can win on Saturday against Bury - how great will that be? Getting a nice little gap building now between us and the other teams from 8th onwards.
