I think you are giving Dema a bit to much credit I took it to be that he will offer an opinion of the lino on the Compton because he is in his vicinity but as I stated he will very rarely be "in line" to have a perfect view.
The assessor sits in the Directors Box on the half way line and will very rarely comment on a lino's decisions regarding offsides because he is not in a position to do so ie not IN LINE. The main concerns for the assessor as regards the lino will be fitness, team work, assistance to the referee in giving offences within his designated area, clarity of signals, positioning, control of technical areas, management of players, any other duties requested by the ref in their pre match discussion, that'll do for now I'm fed up
