errrrrrrrrrm our goals against collumn pal
our away record bein shambolic pal

Perhaps we should look at these facts and figures at the back end of the season when we can get a true reflection of what they actually mean!!

Norwich have had 18 goals against them too, 7 of which were in the first game of the season( which is all but forgotten now), They are in the playoff possition at present and if they are up there come May ...does it matter.

Facts and figures are just that........ facts and figures and nothing else! and will be forgotten if we achive what we want

I've never said anything of the sort.

I said he retains posession which is an invaluble asset for a League 2 team as not many do it.

I also said if you don't appreciate his talent, then you've probably never played football properly. It helps a great deal when you've got someone you can drop the ball off to and let him slow the tempo down.

The CM was the problem prior to Perks signing, now it's the defence, make your mind up.

Page has improved vastly this season compared to last and is showing us finally why he was the flagship signing of last season.

However, he does from time to time allow the red mist to descend and saturday was another occasion where his temper got the better of him unfortunately.

His challenge for the penalty at best was a little rash, at worst a moment of madness, late and ultimately probably cost us a point and maybe even 3 as we looked on top prior to the incident (indeed, Perkins had just hit the bar).

Although I do not blame the ref nor his assistants for the decision he was very quick to pull up most physical contact and was whistle happy for the majority of the game against both sides. For me an experience player who has played at this level ought to be able to adapt his game to minimise fouls against/free kicks etc.

I must use this medium to apologise to anyone who may have overheard me at the match or that i text on the way home branding him a thug. I appreciate his efforts thus far this season and hope he continues in his current vein of form (just hope he cuts out the odd moment of madness!)

The downside of Page on Saturday is that he is suspended for this Saturday, I know some will say it's only Burton and we hammerred them recently. Breckin could also be a doubt at the same time - enter D. Hall and Big Kev. Not my ideal partnership.
God I hate this league.

So you think all football has to be played at 100mph? Have you never heard of slowing the tempo down if things get hectic? Have you ever played football for a Sunday League team and had a midfielder who keeps posession in the centre of the park?

Oh, and well done for highlighting four words of my post and not commenting on the rest.

As you might say, "pure genious".

He doesn't retain posession sometimes, he retains it most of the time. How often does he lost the ball?

What would you like him to do to up the tempo? Drive forward like Steven Gerrard? I don't know what he can do, he's obviously never going to be that sort of player and there aren't many players at this level who can drive forward at pace from central midfield and still have an end product.

Well, my theory is that people who haven't played football properly before don't appreciate the ability of a player like Mark Allot. It's oh-so-easy to criticise and tell him to 'get it forward' when you're in the crowd but if you take the mindset of a player on Allot's team, what would you rather him do? Try a hollywood Jamie Winteresque pass or play the short ball so it doesn't just come straight back at you?

And I asked you how he could up the tempo to which you chose to ignore and pick on a sentence of my post.

You can't just say "this is my opinion but I refuse to back it up with any reasoning apart from its my opinion" and stick your fingers in your ears and shout loudly.

Distribute the ball quicker at times instead of taking 3 million touches to control it then having to pass it back coz every1 in front is marked up
instead of one touch(max) then bang a ball forward

Its whats known as experience and timing. Ebdon was a master at it, so was Bonnyman, Robinson and Leven too. Every team needs this sort of player. He brings other players in and is pivotal to keeping possession for long periods. Which is one thing that has improved this season. Allott does this to perfection and make the team tick.
