ALL the board members should be PROUD...it's been a long time coming Congratulations to them all.

BH should take extra pride in it.

Tesco loading bays are on the first floor believe it or not.

The aerial shot does give a better view and I am mistaken. I'd like to see an aerial view around christmas time!

Despite my continuing carping on about the lack of a supporters' bar at the new ground I am genuinely excited at the prospect of the new development and how quickly progress is apparently being made. My previous unkind remarks about it never being ready in time for next July already seem misplaced.
However, one slightly negative point is proving correct and that is the size of the plot. PW says it is twice the size of Saltergate but as the stands go up you can see how little space is available around the ground. I still think it is in the wrong place but beggars can't be choosers I guess.
Does any one know if any progress has been made towards producing a training facility more befitting a league club - on Stand Road Park perhaps?

You're having a laugh.

Go on then, tell us where it should have been.

In a perfect world where money was no issue and we could have got the land the best place would have been to the north of the Trebor site on the other side of the A61 to the college. Still a brownfield site, close by the train station and with easy access from town with the addition of a pedestrian bridge over the road. I think this area is earmarked for the marina development if it ever gets off the ground.

Its moving along slowly.

They have dug out and re-routed part of the canal to allow for a cul-de-sac.

There's still plenty of room for a ground there. It's too late now.

But it didn't fit in with the Councils Blueprint for the whole A61 corridor.

Despite negativity in the past, and as Pete rightly pointed out in a different thread yesterday, the Council have been very helpful from day one regarding the Dema site.

Is the Council always right then? Even on a blueprint? This is a pointless discussion and I've got to go now. I was just answering a question from Bankrobber.

A site which (from a quick look on Google Maps) looks a very similar size to our existing plot up at Dema? I can't see how there would be any more space there than there is already.

I suspect your problem with the Dema site is not really the size but the location.

I'm looking on the satellite view on Google and it seems as though you could barely fit Saltergate opposite the college, let alone the new place. Further up, you might, on the old Laver's site between the river and the A61, but since you'd need two points of access (one public, one emergency?), much of your building money might go in bridging the A61 at Hazlehurst Lane or the Rother on the Brim Road side, to get vehicles onto the site, assuming Meltham Lane was extended south for one point of access. Put it there, though, and you're almost at the new place anyway. And where's the nearest pub!?

We wouldn't need a pub, there'd be the supporters bars
God I hate this league.

Bit ungrateful that John, considering we were given the land I think we've done ok. You'll soon get used to it.

Looking at the latest pic it appears we may have trouble with the low midday sun, particularly as the year progresses.

Damn the earth tilting on its axis!!
