For a minute there i thought this was another "The worlds about to end" thread by Warfey.

I think Shez will make some changes before tues, maybe 1 in & a couple out but like you say its anyones guess who leaves. Before yesterday i'd have said Harsley is a shoe in for leaving but after he came on he dint do that badly well worth a squad place. As for Kerry though i'd be a little worried if i was him.

 Got to be looking to bring in a target man and if we have to shed a bit of deadweight to achieve this lets hope somebody wants to be buy! Otherwise we'll be left to teem and ladle in the loan market.
Many a good tune

I wouldn't be surprised to see Gritton go. He's a good player at this level and other clubs will be interested but for some reason he doesn't seem to have impressed JS. Kerry would be another likely contender for a move out if we can find anyone interested, although it would surprise me of another league team want to sign him. If anybody offered to take over Currie's contract I'm sure the club would allow it to happen.

Having said all that, the most likely players to leave will be the ones currently doing well in the first team. It will be interesting to see how we react if somebody puts a decent offer in for Niven or Lowry.

I suspect that JS will have people lined up to sign as replacements should anybody leave. I would certainly expect a big striker to sign should we offload Gritts.

I expect the next starting line up to be very different from yesterdays, we play Burton on tuesday night in the paint pot cup, so i expect shez to give the fringe players a run out to see if any of them are better than the players who failed to beat morecambe. Unsure if anyone else with be singed, or sold/sent out on loan, we could do with a couple of players who aren't getting games to be going elsewhere, even if only to give them match experience.

Got that one wrong I'm afraid looks like what we have is what we have. You have to ask the question is this squad good enough and have we the ambition at the club to get out of this poo league? I really did believe things would drastically alter with the arrival of DA, but it looks like Hubbards influence is still ruling the club hence it will be very difficult to gain promotion IMO

Well a target of getting into the championship in 3-5 years seems like ambition to me.

We have a good squad of players, it's upto the coahing staff to transform a set a good lower league individuals into a good unit capable of getting promotion, it may not happen as quickly as people were wishing but just because we played poorly on saturday it doesn't mean the season is over, we can't force players to join other clubs if the interest isn't there it looks like we are stuck with them but they may still prove to have a certain value in the future months.

Lets not also forget that although the transfer deadline has now passed in a weeks time the loan market will be open once again.

Easy to speak of championship football, means nothing if the actions are not there to enable them

Poor on Saturday at home
Good for 80 mins against County at home
Poor away at Shrewsbury
Poor second half against Northampton
Poor against Torquay by some accounts

Why people think it would be any different with a team made up mostly of the same players that have failed the last two seasons

Why do people think that the new management team will be no better than rico and co. He was said to be very poor at being manager but now talk of existing players improving under a better management team is dismissed.

We have been poor in games so far this season but it's still early days we've played just 6 games under the management of JS, is 6 games enough to go on to conclude that we aren't going to be promoted. We're not Notts County we have a new manager and some new players, JS cannot get rid of everyone who the fans feel was poor last season, it's bound to be a squad of mainly last seasons players, but then we had some very good players last season and most of the problem was down to poor coaching/management. Give the new team time to improve the players we have, 6 games is not enough!

Good post, we have lost one league game drawn two and won two, that suggests we are not far from being a strong promotion challenging team, i am honestly contemplating stopping reading this forum as i cannot get my head around certain posts and those that make them.

Looks like i was but then again the loan market opens next week so we'll see what happens then. I thought like you that things would drastically different once DA arrived & i was suprised that he's not splashed
the cash a bit on the playing staff but then again he dint say he was gunna & you cant blame that on Bazza has much as you'd like too. You dont need to do a Notts Co to get out of this league, its possible
with the right balance of free signings & loanees just like Exeter did last year.
