Firstly, 'Deepthroat' informs me that a certain Mark Hudson has been offered a week's training with ourselves.

It's not clear if this is with a view to anything more long term, but apparently the former Saltergate favourite has hardly been inundated with offers since his release from Rotherham.

Speaking of training, i'm also informed that at least one Town player has expressed his approval of the new regime's methods.

It seems that sessions under the former management team were mundane and limited (which, when pointed out by a certain player, allegedly led to that player being dropped!), however word is that things are now far less of a chore despite the increased workload.

One other thing: i'm told that Peak FM are considering including match reports in their Saturday afternoon schedule for the forthcoming season. At the moment this has got no further than simply being discussed, but maybe the dulcet tones of a rotund friend of mine may once again be emanating from a radio near you in the not too distant future...

Hudson would be a good signing as he's a good player who could fill an area we are weak in. Some fans are too sensitive about alleged comments made by players when they move to other clubs - a lot of it is media spin, and what matters is surely what the player does on the pitch anyway.

When Huddy's firing on all cylinders, he's as good as you'll get at this level, sadly he's not consistent enough. If he was to come back here, it would be a backwards step for both parties.

Forgive him for what?

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if we ended up signing hudson. There is a large hole in the squad left by Montrose which a motivated Hudson would fill admirably.

He is a good player and with no baggage with our new management team must be very tempting to them. He would have bridges to build with some of our supporters and if this leads to him being at his best all well and good. If a player, any player, signs for us and does his best for us he deserves our support and if he plays as well as he can (Bristol City away for example) I'm sure he would get it.

Knowing a minority of CFC fans, they probably wouldn't forgive him, so he wouldn't really be given a fair chance.

You'd class Huddy in the same league as Monty and Allott? The problem I have is that since he left us, he's failed to do enough to warrant a big contract at both Huddersfield & Rotherham, it's almost like he becomes stale and loses his way.

Huddy now might have a different outlook, but I'm not sure he's the player for us. Given the Clubs that have enquired about him (Oldham & Bradford), we must be the last throw of the dice!

If only we were on TV every week. Definitely a bad move if true.

Absolutely dreadful player.

Drifts in and out; mostly OUT. I despair that some Town fans actually rate this plodder. If Mark Hudson is the target of our ambition then count me out. He's not good enough.

I certainly won't be paying to watch him. Come on we can do better; much much better.

I can think of several people who would be delighted if Hudson re-signed - Martin Gritton and Gregor Robertson to name two. For some reason some town fans seem to need somebody to boo so if we sign Mark it will take the pressure off the other victims

I would welcome his return, he is perhaps better than what we currently have in Kerry, Harsley for the central midfiield position with Niven.

the midfield pairing of Niven and Hudson was perhaps the best we've had in the last decade - and it was in a higher division.

Totally different types of players.

Allot was a player with limited ability who did the simple easy thing who rarely turned a game.

Hudson was a clever bustling player who tried things, when they came off he looked good. Problem is that at this level he needs better players around him to do the donkey work.

You can't really blame him though. Where would he fit into the squad, don't think he'd be CM ?
God I hate this league.
