so you wont be happy if he is named? With proof that his teams have finished in 6th and eighth position in league 1.

No, I'm not saying that I won't be happy. I'll be happy with Sheridan, Calderwood, whoever. I was just saying that he hasn't really proved much... but you're right, he has had decent finishing positions in League One.

I would be slightly disapointed - I'd rather see Calderwood get it!
Why delay for this long if we're going for Sheridan, and didn't Hub say we would be suprised?

I wouldnt be dissapointed that we are getting a manager with a decent league 1 callibre such as Sheridan. Also he will be more easily moulded into a manager who plays the kind of good football many of us and Allen wants to see. Calderwood probably wouldnt have been.

True, but Calderwood has experience of actually managing teams to promotion (Northampton and Forest)

That in itself should steer us a million miles away from the bloke, name me any successful manager who has been "moulded"..was Clough, Shankley Paisley, Fergie, Capello or Mourhino "moulded", or are they/were they their own man 100%..!
Your post gets me siding with Calderwood even more!!
A manager moulded in the chairmans view of how a manager should be is a disaster

they both have decent track record with the old club, thought calderwood was unlucky with the signing's he made to keep forest in the championship but lower league i feel there's no one better, on sheridan i thought he did a good job with oldham with not really any money to spend and allegedlly lose his job not because on the the pitch but because of off the pitch probs'
to be honest i am suprised the guy from stockport (mcgannon or summat) never hasnt been given a real push thought he did a good job with stockport and was only made redundent due to financial problems.
wotever happen the new man will have my full support and hoepfully the fns will at least give him and chance.

Well perhaps you are right...but Calderwood has got a reputation for playing direct football.
He took 3 years to get Northampton promoted on a bigger budget compared to rest of division. He got them preomoted eventually, but i have heard that some at Northampton were happy when he got the Forest job! Even when he got promotion!
Sheridan got a average league 1 side in the league 1 play off once and just outside off play offs the other time!
Perhaps, but Allen will have/has had the final say on who will be tha manager, and he has stated that he wants to see good football. Calderwood doesnt play that.

Yes agreed, I spoke to a Northampton fan who said the football was very boring, and it took him 3 years to get promotion. He did give Calderwood credit for eventually building the best squad in the division, but it was on a big budget, and this "best squad" still only finished 3rd.
His won lost record at Northampton and Forest is good, but it was with teams who I would say were a division below their natural level at the time. The only exception to that is his last 20odd games with Forest in championship, and they stuggled in those.
Much rather have Sheridan.
