Yes no compo needed. She's going to sign a whole new squad and then put it on expenses.

Biggest protest vote is a non vote - voting for someone you dont want runs risk they may win, especially in current climate.

I'll be registering my protest by not registering a vote (again...)

Its the european elections, so it doesnt matter. No one `wins`.

A non vote is just that.

Nothing.

Imagine the 40% or so of people who didnt vote all voted for the above mentioned smaller parties in the euro elections.... How scared would the westminster crowd be, and how quickly would this system of expenses and greedy MPs` be sorted out?
A new hope.

well, clearly the guy (or girl) who gets most votes wins....

I was referring to local elections - imagine having your council tax set by some of the "other" parties....

The Westminster crowd are only scared by losing there easy life. don't care what protest vote is registered this time. I wont waste the petrol and harm the environment going down to vote for someone i couldn't give a toss about...

The majority of people don't vote anymore so the powers that be won't feel remotely concerned by yet another non-voter

I'm voting for Dave Allen.

A man of integrity, a proven track record and who wants the very best for the people of Chesterfield.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

There's an old adage that says 'if you don't vote, you're not entitled to complain about the Government you end up with'. I would urge everyone to vote and if you really don't like any of the candidates then spoil your ballot paper - they have to report the number of spoiled papers as well as the number of votes cast for each candidate and a record number of spoilt papers would send a more powerful message to the main parties - it says 'I don't want any of you' rather than 'I can't be bothered to vote'.

Remember that Blair won huge majorities with support from about 25% of the electorate but was able to claim a 'popular mandate' because of low turnouts - to professional politicians a non vote is conveniently interpreted as 'the voter is happy with the status quo'!

I think voter apathy is probably at it's highest level I can recall since being able to vote. I'm not sure which turd i'd prefer to win the local elections so your proposal sounds like the best course of action but I'll probably not waste my time and bother going.
If only....

lots of mixed feelings about europe but a least in those elections everyone's vote counts with proportional representation .
