Only for fun so i hope nobody is offended.

Here's my league table on where I expected teams to be at the start of the season, and where they are right now. It'd take an age to expain every one, but I will pick out a few reasons for one or two.

1. Bury - Alan Knill should get manager of the season for what he has done in 15 or so months.
2. Rotherham
3. Morecambe
4. Exeter
5. Brentford
6. Dagenham - Best team I've seen all season, now they have players back from injury their smallish squad as a real force to be reckoned with
7. Bournemouth
8. Accrington
9. Aldershot - could be higher but honestly dont know enough about them
10. Gillingham - again dont know enough but always had them down as a top half team
11. Barnet.
12. Wycombe - Always knew they'd be right up there
13. Dale - Similiar to Wycombe, but not quite up there
14. Grimsby. Actually didn't expect them to be right down there, the turnaround is truely remarkable but they shouldn't have been that pooh in the first place
15. Chester
16. Chesterfield
17. Macclesfield
18. Luton - Thought about this twice, because their effort has been stirling, but I, pre-season thought they might just manage it. I'll accept all criticisim on this placementh though.
19. Lincoln
20. Darlington. - I know, I know, but aside from Shrewsbury I thought their team/squad at the start of the season and even now (take it as a compliment, my pre-match comments at the weekend highlighted Abbot and Kennedy as class acts who should be playing above this level) - off the field events during the season have obv changed things.
21. Notts C
22. Port Vale
23. Bradford
24. Shrewsbury - Should have drunk it.

I'd have Luton & Darlo definitely above us and probably Lincoln as well!

Grim reading! Though it goes to show you that other teams fans have think we have under achieved as well!

Most of the so-called experts in the national press and on the major football websites (SKY/BBC etc) all had us down for mid-table nothingness, not challenging for the play offs.

That table suggests we are one of the big underachievers of the league if I'm reading it correctly. No-one expected Shrewsbury to finish bottom , I think he's saying Shrews are the team that have let thmselves down the most.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

I have said from day one, even during the dark days over Xmas, that I predicted and expected a play off position, and anything more would be a bonus.

If we fail to make the play offs, it will have been a poor season IMHO.

I can't remember what my exact prediction was at the start of the season but I think I expected 4th/5th at the very least, maybe a challenge for automatic... think this guys table does make interesting reading though, and fair comment about Shrewsbury and Bradfords under-performance

Knilly should be up there considering the money he has at his disposal (2 million) but yes he knows a good player.
God I hate this league.
