Firstly, i think we should give Erniex3 credit for sharing accurate info with us a couple of weeks ago.
Secondly, let's all understand what Ward's agent's agenda was tonight: it was to publicise the fact that Barnsley had offered four hundred big ones to any other interested parties. Obviously if someone outbids the Tykes he gets a larger cut, hence his candour.
Then, maybe the fact that he's publicly stated the Club did not offer parity with those enjoying long contracts at top wack tells us it must be correct, otherwise there'd be a lawsuit heading his way from someone at CFC.
Finally, i think Barnsley's offer is far better than anything we could expect at a tribunal, so, given the Club's failure to secure Ward's signature on a new deal, we've no option but to accept it. Unless Derby or Norwich are prepared to 'gazump' the Tykes, of course.
PS: i thought the agent's comments about Barnsley playing good football and offering Ward "...the sort of service he'd want" was quite revealing.
Only info passed on from the Barnsley end but it wasn't accurate, price was but I was told Adejayi on top. Obviously if that is first offer and there may be a bidding war there may be more to come. Perhaps that's their opening bid and I was told the extent they are prepared to go? O rsomeone just had a good guess and fed me a line
