he did ok

I think him and Robertson were swapped over to utilise Robertsons height as Aldershot were expected to play some long ball stuff.

Whether Notts are expected to play same way i don't know, so he may swap them back

Personally, as i have said before, i prefer Robertson primarily in front of Goodall rather than the other way round, with some swapping and covering as appropriate. I think Robertson is better getting forward then Goodall and Goodall is better at left back than Robertson.

I've said all season this should have been used more often after it worked against Barnet first game.

Goodall is our best summer signing, i think he's a belting player! Loves a late challenge which never hurts!

sorry for my spelling error, I will go and stand in the naughty corner
I suppose you could reverse the position now knowing if things go awry, these players can be reversed. must say it was smart thinking though by Mr Rico !!

if goodall is are best summer signing then that sums up are start then. i personally dont think goodall has been playing well this season. but he is are best signing like you said so that says something about are signings so far. in the long term rob page will be as he is a great defender.

a freind of mine who is a leeds fan tells me that when he is travelling home from the matches, listening to the radio phone ins around that area ,that all of the huddersfield fans who ring in say how badly they miss page and what a great player he was for his organisation skills.

<_< I'd prefer to see Gregor on the bench! Goodall had some good runs wide left which he could still do from LB but needs somebody better than Robertson in front of him. We looked vunerable defensively down that flank.

I though Robertson had a very good game on Wednesday, marred by a couple of miscues, and a comedy attempt at goal in the last minute. He's a good footballer though, and he creates a fast tempo to the game, which helps Jack and Wardy.

robertson has his good games but he also has his BAD games. his bad games are when he goes inefective, out of position and normally costs us a goal which people base him on. i think i would rather have him playing than currie at the moment waether its LM or LB

;) Funny, I fail to remember ANY match where he had a good game nver mind a very good game. Just recently against Chester he was diabolical and justifyingly was subbed along with Currie. Made the bench at Lincoln and came on to litttle effect. Showed once again on wednesday he doesn't have a defensive bone in his body. If he is in the line-up there you find the weakness.

I thought he had a very good second half at Rochdale

He was very good in his debut for us. But since them he's let himself down by a fair few mistakes and a collection of bookings. He's no worse than anyone else we've had at left back over the past year though, but after his performance in midfield the other night he's done enough so far to keep that position until he proves otherwise. One advantage of Goodall's is that he is about 26 so he's got a fair amount of experience compared to most other players we've had at LB, he comes across as someone who's younger though.

Left back is a position we very often struggle to find anyone good enough for.

;) Was there but obviously didn't hit the spot for me,E3, but will make a note for future reference:

Note: Had half a good game at Rochdale

(but so did Boden, and we have got rid of him)

no he didn't.

Robbo wasn't bad first half either there but was heavily involved with a lot of our build up play under where we were all sat second half

 Both full back positions have been a problem for a while now that our manager has failed to solve. His alienation of O'Hare last season and the lack of form of Picken has resulted in a variety of players trying to fit the bill. The RB position may be satisfied with the impressive Gray. Goodall was brought in to solve the LB but now we are suggesting he should play further forward. Still say he can make those runs down the left flank from that LB position but does need a reliable player in front of him to cover.
