him shouting and talking to the players for 90 mins was sat in the centre stand 2nite and could clearly hear him giving good instructions to the midfield also sellers wasnt sat on his bottom uptairs for the first time i can remember at home anyway. my question is why o why as it took so long for this to happen. the players need direction and 2nite finally he gave it. pass the ball and service jack and jamie to feet we will beat anyone. i can still c him changin the side for satdy

I also sit in centre-stand right behind dugout (well...not RIGHT behind, I'm not Hubbard) and thought he was less vocal than usual

For all his deficencies (and there are many) being quiet is seriously not one of them

Wasn't Alex Ferguson one game from the sack at one point during his Man Utd early days?

Maybe with his back well and truly against the wall, Rico might start to deliver!

I've always been an optimist.......

I wonder if the good hammering on saturday against a poorish team was what we needed, something to give them a right kick up the ass.

He was about ten minutes from the sack, they were playing Norwich in the FA cup i think and Mark Robins came off the bench to score the winner ( i think)

They went on to win the cup that season and the rest is history as they say

And were allowed to play an "on loan" keeper in the final replay (Les Sealey) when at that time you were not allowed to. Can't remember the reasons behind it but Leighton had a mare in the final and Sealey was played in the replay.

Certainly put out a team which looked a decent shape instead of that debacle last Saturday. Makes things a lot easier , although I thought the Goodall/Robertson combo was a weak link and their constant swapping positions got confusing at times. Keep it simple Rico!
Many a good tune

Previously there'd been reasons like losing against D&R with 9 men, and holding them out at 1-0 for most of that. And Bury were already a form side when we played them - and we had new players, but linocoln there was no excuses it was a hammering by a side one place from us and we had a full squad available.

Just shows that it's still early days, the main thing is we've got some decent results lately (1 loss in 4 games), providing we keep improving we'll be ok, and then providing we keep improving we can save the season and get up there.

I'd still deep down would like to think rico can do it, even though i know it's hard what with the fans opinion currently, it's going to take some major run of wins/draws to get people to change - with minimal defeats involved, and without mistakes he's made in the past, but none of us know for certain that he's shot it... we have a pretty good idea though!

i would still rather our club win every game and get promotion than like some take a loose so he gets the boot i think that is wrong how could anyone want there team to loose to settle an agenda.

Les Sealey was obviously allowed to play,he was initially signed on loan before signing on a permanent deal,Jim Leighton had a mare in the 3 - 3 draw versus Crystal Palace in the final so Fergie chose to play Sealey in the replay and he then gave his medal to Leighton as he had played in every round,Les died in 1996 just short of his 44th birthday.....

Its a strange thing isn't it? A bit like suffering from toothache; the pain keeps coming and going, until eventually you have to have your tooth pulled out and that hurts even more, but afterwards you start to enjoy eating again.
I'm embarrassed by the actions of those who run my club.

I'm sorry but thats just rubbish, dropping points to Morecambe and Chester (at home) are not good results. They are not the results of promotion headed teams. To suggest otherwise is to grasp at straws which is a bit like Lee Richardson's team selection policy currently.

Aldershot have lost 6 on the trot away and one wonders if they had scored the penalty and then equalised what would have happened.

A scoreline that matches the Millwall game of a couple of seasons ago. Can someone remind me what happened to the club that season and who was in charge at the end..... Oh yeah.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Ifs and Buts

So thats like saying if we'd have equalised against Lincoln, we'd have won!

Agree?
