We all know Rico's position, but whilst he's in charge, we'll do all we can for him.

I think then that last night was as much a release of the tension thats been building up that they knew the situation with but it wasn't public knowledge.

Now it appears to be out in the open somewhat the players have shaken off the anxieties of the pressure from the crowd and get back to what they do best, playing football.

Sounds resigned to the fact Rico is on his way out. I'm not convinced. I can't imagine many things being sweeter to the Hubbard Monster than seeing Rico being successful so he can rub us moaners noses in it! I for one will rub my own nose in it willingly if it means getting promotion!
We have to keep things in perspective at any rate. One good win isn't enough by any measure.
Well done to all concerned last night but we need alot more of that in the coming weeks.

No, it's a sad state of affairs. Even if we go on a mad run, Rico is still out of a job.

I would imagine being the manager of Chesterfield is actually costing Rico money based on the assumption that if he was finished tomorrow, he could bank the pay off and get another job.

Edit - It was good to see Rico introduce 3 subs, all collecting appearance & win bonuses!

Just before Rico made a substitution, can't remember if it was the 2nd or 3rd, he turned to the Directors box, as if to seek assurance - surely it wasn't seeking approval before bringing a sub on?

The other option is (pure speculation, of course) the players being told your new manger may be in the stands, if they don't feel the need to impress rico, they may want to put on a show for their new boss's...

Do you think recent press speculation regarding possible contract negotiations is a players way of saying, look i'm looking at offers at the minute, come and get me, I'm in form too!

Just a thought!

Isn't Wardy having a good season?

By the way MP, i've had a little whisper that things might not be as cut and dried as you suggest.

Well, at least not in LR's head, anyway.

Could there be a scenario where BH has dangled the carrot of results equaling continued employment?

I think it is out of Hubbard's hands to be honest, I believe others are beginning to pull the strings now. I cannot see anything changing Rico's departure from the club

I could see him going if we have another bad run and there always the likelihood that new owners would want a change, unless of course we are looking serious promotion / play off contenders by the time they take over.
