Are you going to recommend 2 different central defenders to pair up every week?

Just not sure where you are coming from cos this week you wanted Downes dropping after what was probably his best game for 18 months and now Austin etc

 Until Page gets back we haven't a natural leader on the field. So we could play any combination of centre backs but without someone to organise----well!
Many a good tune

Currie should get the chop he's a total waste of a shirt, picking up his wage up every week and contributing nil to the team.

I like the look of that front line and i think that having jack and jamie fit may just be enough to keep rico in a job. I liked what i saw of Tex when we came on, given that he's a replacement for fletch he only needs 5 goals a season to match his tally and i reckon he should beat that. What he also looks to have is a decent bit of skill and pace so he looks better than a typical big man centre forward eg bruno, he does lack a couple of inches that bruno had but bruno couldn't jump anyway. I'm not going to expect too much from him too soon but he does look like he could offer the team what we've been lacking so far this season.

Not sure if i'd play downes centre back next week, didn't think he played well yesterday and i might be more tempted to put him at right back again and Hall in the centre. Didn't think picks did enough right yesterday. Although i feared a couple of times when Austin was under pressure i feel we need more experience at centre back than Hall and Downes. The down side to doing this is the chopping and changing which isn't going to help the players gelling together.

I'd also assume that Lowry won't be starting next week, not from what i witnessed yesterday.

Downes was probably our best player (admittedly that's not saying much!)

must agree that Picken was poor though
