Currie U-turn angers Adams
Micky Adams admits the Darren Currie affair could have set back his Albion player hunt.
The Seagulls manager admitted he was bitterly disappointed when Currie turned his back on the Seagulls and instead opted to sign a three-year deal at Chesterfield.
The player had seemed set to move to Withdean for a second spell.
Now Adams is wondering whether he missed out on playmaking talent elsewhere while waiting for Currie to complete what looked an imminent switch from Luton Town back to the Sussex coast.
Speaking after last night's lively 4-2 friendly win at Bognor, Adams said: "I'm disappointed because when you think you have got somebody signed, your search (elsewhere) in many ways comes to an end.
"Maybe I would have signed somebody else who has now signed for another football club."
Adams added: "When a player says he is going to sign for the football club and then doesn't, I'm bitterly disappointed with that. I thought his word was his bond.
"Certainly he and his agent have handled this very badly.
"Am I surprised? I'm never surprised with footballers, to be fair.
"But myself and Dick Knight worked hard getting Darren to agree terms to join the football club.
"We thought we had done it but I suppose we shouldn't be surprised because Darren is not the man I thought he was.
"We will continue our quest. I find it difficult talking about people who are not at the football club. I really want to talk about people who are here and are committed to the football club."

I'd like to hear Currie's version of events. Remember how Page got bad-mouthed by Stan Ternant and revealed all. ****** him anyway, he's our man

Currie has gone from a 'creative talent' as decribed by Adams to an overweight, over-rated, plodder who can't run and just a bench-warmer, according to most Brighton fans in the space of 12 hours. And we think our board is fickle.

Diddums
Maybe the somebody else has signed for MK Dons.
I doubt if he and his Dick worked as hard as Rico to get his man - 7 weeks and counting.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on
