Hook, line and sinker.

And how funny will it be if "who the fook are Chesterfield" take points of this "sleeping giant" next season.

Or finish above them.

Oh, that's right, we already did.

Funny that really becasue if you would care to look at the form table from after the new year we were better than you in 2008.........We got off to a bad start, That's why we just missed out on the play-offs.......Reason being not giving anough time for the players to gel as stated!

Your in for a huge shock next season boy's......Last season meant foook all! <_<

7,500 season tickets sold so far

Yup and if you look at the table at New Year we were in 4th, so we were better than you in 2007. However, it all means jack sh*t because the thing is Firthy, its a 46 game season and neither the sleeping giant nor Chesterfield were consistently good enough throughout the season; hence why you're on our forum clutching at straws about how you were better than us in 2008 instead of on the Huddersfield website comparing season ticket sales.

And do you really consider 16 points to be 'just' missing out on the play offs? If so did you 'just' miss out on relegation given you only avoided that by 20 points?

What's the point going on the scums website just to compare to Bradfords season ticket record, They still haven't beaten our record ;)

We new as soon as Rochdale scored in the last minute that our play-off hopes were over.........so therefore we didn't put the effort in... In the last games! we pretty much played our reserves ;)

But at the end of the day it's what you do next season that counts now............and even you know that where going to finish higher than yooo

You come one here giving it large about how many season tickets you've sold. Wow. No one here gives a toss, the league is decided on results, not crowds, how funny it will be to see Sadford fall flat on their faces next season.

Now pop off and enjoy a curry or something, theres a good chap.
Assumption is the mother of all f**k ups...

you seem a little upset...
must be because big city club like yours finished well behind little old chesterfield, even with our crappy ground & poor support.

Exactly. If your huge sleeping giant team can't finish above our club with "no history, no fans and no potential" then how Bunkum are you ;)

They've had 3500 pledges - which are not sales - updated on their official website on 15th May - they'll then have to collect the brass which will no doubt put a few off - nevertheless, a good scheme

Just so you're clear on how our pledge scheme worked. Nobody's pledge would count without some form of payment, i.e. cash, cheque, credit/debit card details etc, on the guarantee that if the scheme failed (which I'll get onto in a sec) then Vale would refund the money and prices would be frozen at last seasons price.

I was going to say - this has been kicking around my way for a while but Burslem just isn't big enough to support 5,000 season tickets outright. My understanding was that if they reached around the 4500 mark they would still allow the scheme to go ahead. Plus, they're counting concession season tickets in the total for the pledges as well. Think they'll struggle to make the deadline, but a good idea as you said...

In response to that, Vale used to attract crowds of 8 to 9 thousand regularly in league one (then division 3) in the early 90's. Our attendances then stayed around that number throughout our championship days. Following relegation attendances have fallen dramatically for a number of reasons, mainly due to the spiraling costs of watching rubbish football. So Burslem is more than big enough to attract numbers well in excess of 5000, as has been the case in the past.

As things stand Vale passed the 5000 target on Thursday (with 500 u9s free included in that number due to confusion over whether they counted or not). A few weeks back no more free tickets were to be included in the total, and since we passed our 5000 target on thursday, there were fans queuing all day friday and saturday. Vale are still counting the pledges received over those two days, so at this moment we have no idea what the final total is, other than the fact that we have exceeded 6000 PAYING customers. The final figure is expected this evening sometime, so with all pledges, paying adults, concessions, disabled stand etc, we are looking at a figure closer to 7000 than 6000. An amazing achievement considering that Vale had one of their worst seasons ever last season. Prices have now risen to 229 for adult season tickets and juniors still pay the same concessionary rate as during the pledging, still an amazing deal at under a tenner a match. That price stands now until the beginning of the season.

This sort of scheme is just what football needs at the moment. If Vale had have done nothing, then attendances would have struggled to break 3500 next season. This way, we're looking at between 7-8000 including away fans every game, which for league 2 is brilliant.

Sorry to butt in but:

Bradford are advertising for Halifax fans to buy season tickets for £99 in a desperate bid to clock 9000 sales. The most irritating thing is if they do they publish the gate including all season tickets sold even though most of them wont be in the ground, as they did last season. It is a fact that in some games there was only 8000 present but the attendance was still given as 13+. This will be exaggerated if they give 9000 away, so crowds of 20,000 could be published with a paltry 5000 crowd echoing round their ridiculously over sized stadium. In theory they could have crowds above their capacity.

Hudds have sold 15500, but everyone knows at £100 pound many of these wont bother coming to every game. You only need to do 6 to get money your back. They do publish correct gates - expect about 12000 for most games. The downside is if the club do well they would normally receive extra income from pay at the gates, but anyone who even contemplates watching Hudds will have a season ticket. Good luck CFC

Carry on

Bradford will have to give them away next year....dire side. Absolutely nowhere near good enough last season to compete...it'll take a massive overhaul to put them on a par with us whether 1000 or 100000 turn out to watch them.

Oh and Bradfords ground is the one of the quietest in football. They might not know they can't be heard from the away end. And if they think reclaiming that rubbish 2 tier stand is a good thing...heh.

It has to be the most unbalanced ground in the world - premier league on 1 and three quarter sides, first division down one touch line and non league
behind the goal. And the players come out from the kind of changing room portacabin you see at local level. A couple more seasons down here and they
wont even fill their new "home" end.

Oh, Oh the irony <_<
how you can take the pi$$ out of the away end is beyond me....It's got cracking accoustics and not that bad of a view!
(And a roof) look at the state of your end ffs! Jeeez!

I like the quote of "desperate bid" It really does make me laugh, How many halifax fans do you really think are going to buy a bradford city ticket ffs, they class us as there main rivals!

Valley parade- Quietest stadium ever........What is the point in stateting all this tosh, Becasue we all know deep down that you know it isn't!
We have the best home support not to mention the best away FACT!!!

http://uk.youtube.co...h?v=FqVZ2x8vvQk

http://uk.youtube.co...h?v=ewu6hZqIiOk

You could only wish for home support like this!

http://s281.photobucket.com/albums/kk229/B...nt=100_0230.flv

http://uk.youtube.co...h?v=7LwFn3y368o

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=okdGyES12xQ...............Last game of the season away to wycombe, we took 616 now thats what you call support!

You could only wish to have support like us!

Oh and also,
If our Sunwin stand hold 9,006 and the bottom tier holds around 5,000 and it's pretty much full every game..........
Our Kop (Carlsberg stand) hold 7,452 and that has around 5,000 in it every game
Our east stand ( Midland Road) Holds 4,500 and that half full call it 3,000
The away end this season has had an average of 500 fans in it
How on earth do you come up with conclusion that we have around 8,000 fans in valley parade? Anwer me that!
Just because our stadiums MAHHUSIVE it always quite deceiving on how many fans we have in it!

RANT OVER :D
