So we are about where we said we would be then? Considering that fans are usually blinded by the love they have for their team and usually think they are better than they actually are! I seriously reckon that's what we think at the moment! We firmly believe we are better than we are!

I think you miss the point, most people predicted us to finish so low as we hadnt strengthed the squad sufficiently for a promotion push and they had doubts about installing a manager who had done nothing as a number 2 and was unproven at best. In fact where we are shows that alot of people have been proved right about being so pessemistic in the first place. To suggest this thread shows you are correct and that things are positive shows you up for the naive person you seem to be.

I agree on that! But if we hadn't of signed Jack we would have signed somebody else, ok chances are they wouldn't be as good as Jack is but I think everybody is missing the point.............

Everybody keeps saying 'what if we haven't got Jack!' As far as I'm concerned it's a stupid question! We have, he's ours, he plays in blue and white, he's a Spireite; simple as!

And fantastic as Jack is, he has far from done it on his own! He is just a little special! Most top teams in each league have one! Ours just happens to be upfront! We are just not used to having a player that's a little special to the rest of the side that's all
Even, Dale have just parted with a player for 400K. But what makes Jack more special is he's been there and done it! Got the T-shirt and his experience combined with his ability makes him better than most in this division. He's not just raw talent we have the perfect player (for league 2). But he still can't do it all on his own! It's impossible and we'd be in the bottom 5 if this where the case!

Fair comment, but same goes like wise! You can make anything out to sound the way you want it to, and you should know, your the master at it

That said there is plenty of dross in this league but more quality than some want to admit. I think sniffing around the play offs for most of the season before slipping away to 9th / 10th. Just as there has been in the first part of the season, when a defence that he had every right to expect to be bomb-proof has cost us in the teens of points.
It's interesting to speculate which of Rico and Knill did the lion's share of coaching the defence, but seeing that most of the mistakes were schoolboy errors we probably can't lay the blame on either.

Does 'naive' mean the same as 'know nothing about football'? I'm afraid that it looks as if you've joined the club, Karl, but I wouldn't worry too much. Come in. sit down and have a cup of tea - there's dozens of us in here.

TF has a point though, most of the early season worries sadly appear to be coming true.

I hope can sign some quality on loan and push on, the season which promised much after the arrival of Lester could be ratrher dissapointing.

The worrying thing in very other thread is the what if we didn't have Jack, Jack is too good for us situation. We don't have to apologise for Jack being here and being a fantastic town player. Fact is he is here so no point speculating about him not being etc

Just foronce i wish town fans would accept he is our player. If he was playing for anyone else we wouldn't have all this pointless discussion. He is a massive part of our goal threat but at the end of the day he is a squad member

I'm not sure you've looked at this thread properly; this thread was pulled back from close season after we got relegated, asking where we would come in our first season in this division.

I take it from you reply you think we are going to get promoted and finish next season 8th or 9th in division one! I hope you right The sad thing is town fans would still be after Rico's sacking as we missed the playoffs to the Championship

If you did get your post right, I appoligise and could you please explain as I don't follow?
