Well at this stage i think i can safely stick my neck out and say;
We have zero chance of promotion this season!
We are nowhere near good enough.
We will finish mid-table, 8th/9th maybe.

But we are only 5 pts off automatic promotion, and have been in the play-offs all season.

If we get promotion, which is a priority however we play, the way we got it will be forgotten long term and I can bet my bottom dollar that you all will be chanting and singing on the pitch at the end of the County game or at Wembly.
To be perfectly honest I think that the performance of supporters was as bad as the players on the pitch yesdi. No atmosphere, Very little singing, And quite alot of baracking. There were a few exceptions towards the end in the middle of the kop as there were on the pitch, the fans seemed to be defeated before we had kicked off and that was translated onto the pitch.

Absolutely correct, but understandable. The trouble is, the individual players get criticised on the same basis - if we lose they're too fat/ too slow /unable to pass/ idle/ lumping the ball/being over-elaborate/neshing tackles - delete as apropriate. If we win they're the best thing since sliced bread. It's quite possible for a player to have a very good game in a bad team performance, and vice versa, but you'd never think so to read these boards.
As for the atmosphere yesterday, it was noticeable that we came out and started very slowly, which hands the initiative to the opposition, and it takes some getting back. It also shuts the crowd up, and they take even more getting back. Against Hereford and Stockport we came out of the blocks at a gallop and took the game to the opposition - yesterday we came out at a stroll, the ball was bobbling about in the air and nobody seemed very interested in doing much about it. I don't know why this happens - I hope Rico is geeing them up before they come out - but I do know that once we get into that rut we have terrible trouble in raising the game, and in some games we've never managed it at all.
Does anybody else see it this way? It looked glaringly obvious yesterday.

This blaming the atmosphere is complete BS!
I go to work every day and do a decent job without anybody chanting my name or singing my companies name.......
Poor atmosphere has to be the lamest excuse going, it's pathetic.

Footballs a totally different industury and you know it!
It plays straight into the visitors hands if they can get the home crowd on the players backs!
Having said that, I personally didn't think the atmosphere was that bad! Apart from the usual idiots having a go at Robo! Totally uncalled for and to be frank they know nothing about football as Robo look very assured and composed on the ball! Ok some of his passing went astray (non in dangerous areas), but his main role as a defender was very nearly faultless!

It was one of those days when nobody from either side looked as though they had a yard of pace in them. We are always crap when it is windy and bumpy.

Irrelevant of league position, i have only seen us play well once this season and it was in our one off performance against Hereford. 9/10 we play very poorly.
We are only in the play-offs because Lester is having the best season of his career, and we are in a very very poor league.
If it wasn't for Lester and poor opposition we would be scrapping it out with the Scabs.

I really can't understand this, 'we are 7th' or ' we are only four points behind 2nd place.'
Why don't folk realise it's all about THE LONG TERM. Todays position is not important, its the position at the end of the season.
The current concern is that if we only win 1 of the next 7 (on current form) we are a mid table outfit.
Is a bit like the liitle Dutch boy with his finger in the Dyke. 'Everything's ok, look there's no water coming through. What's the problem?'
The problem is, that for those who have the foresight to see the wider picture, everything points to the damn bursting.
I think most fans are right. We can see the wider picture and the alarm bells are ringing. There is no way we are going to be in the play-offs come May on this form. Rico says he's got to do some thinking. He should have said that 3 months ago when we were dropping all those home points against crap opposition.

I've said should we go up I don't want Rico in charge. Long ball football is dreadful.
