His goals to games ratio (starts certainly) would have suggested he should have played before Ward.
Cant blame the lad, and I hope we have some rabbits in the hat

Can't say as I blame him either, Death. I do feel we may have missed out here by not giving him the starts he deserved. I suppose it is difficult because there is no way we're going to drop Lester so it means he's fighting Fletch and Ward for the other slot. All 3 offer something very different but Rooney's record here speaks for itself.

Just on goals/games, he should have been up with Lester, and ward playing the `wide role`,
A mistake by LR I reckon.

cant really agree with a lot of the comments about rooney and riccos handling here and will side with the manager on this.If you have 4 strikers it is very hard to accomadate them all,if rooneys club was pressurising ricco into playing him which i suspect they were, then he is constantly jigging the side to give him a run.Was he decent ,well his record of scoring goals stands up well, but he was certainly not a player who id have been looking to sign long term,he was a short of pace for a young lad,and he wasnt exactly the most tecnically gifted ive seen(no disrespect to adam,he looks an honest lad and wish him well with his career). So if it keeps us with 3 good strikers at this level(probably insulting jack the god calling him good) and gives ricco less selection woes then i am all for it,personally im a massive wardy fan and believe he will start hitting the net soon

Can't blame Rooney at all - he'll have a good career.

Stick the lad upfront and he finished well. He and Lester together and I'd be confident of goals. Ward should have played the role Rooney did...on both a finishing basis and on the basis that Ward whips in a mean cross.
Good luck Rooney.

BIG BIG mistake losing Rooney, A natural finisher once played up front.
