I think he's gone through (maybe still is) a phase when his passing is inaccurate or the wrong pace. Derek Niven made a career of it. That's being described by some as 'legs have gone', which is nonsense.
Who is the best player in our squad at arriving late in the opponent's penalty area to cause trouble? He has enormous strength in both boxes but his passing isn't as good as competitors for CM.
Incidently, it might be wishful thinking on my part but I thought Fleck looked much, much slimmer last night.
And, off at a tangent, there was a 3rd goalie in the warm up who wasn't Rinaldo. Was he one of our young coaches?

Which of the new lads are impressing you?
Is it too early to say there's an obvious starting 11?

That'll be the sports science department (and nutritionist, if they have one). It's not usually weight, per se, but individual body composition, mm of several calliper measurements. Power to weight ratio ideals.

Also thought Fadz looked leaner and on a couple of occasions commented on Fleck sprinting, looked to be quicker than last season.(Awaits pelters .....)

I've already nicknamed Dibley-Dias 'Kaka'.
Based on 1 viewing I'm very optimistic.
The goalie looks the part (he had nowt to do).
Whilst Oldaker had maxed his potential, Stirk clearly hasn't.
Bonis accurately described by Greenie.
Based on 1 viewing, I'd still have Gordon at LB. Lewis let his winger get a couple of crosses in but shone creatively. Really fine margins when it comes to selection.
Dylan Duffy thrived in a free role. He's big and strong enough to throw his weight about in both penalty areas so I'm hoping he'll unleash his potential.
Hemming
Sheckleford (Tanton not ready), Dunkley, Fadz, Gordon
Dibley-D, Stirk
Duffy, Dobra, Markanday
Grigg or Bonis

We can confirm that Dipo Akinyemi has left the club to join Derry City on a permanent deal. Everyone at York City FC would like to thank Dipo for his services in a York shirt and wish him the very best for the future.

I’d say that’s probably a drop in standards. Derry no better than any NL side.

Good spot. Any gossip about his fitness and price?
I think Cooky will be keeping a close eye on his progress. Good player.

If we are to believe what's been said on here about him wanting to keep his options open and not wanting to enter into discussions until the end of June / beginning of July, you have to wonder if he wants his next move bad enough. At the end of the day, we want players that want to be here.
Times many we've heard Cookie and his staff talk about the importance of a good pre-season and the added value the overseas training camp brings to the squad. If there is interest on our part, then there's a fine line between being content at crossing another day off the calendar, knowing that he's without a club and completely drawing a line under it and moving on.

Regardless of whether McGoldrick does or does not sign - if someone told me we'd get a new young CB through the door plus another CM and that be that - I'd be chuffed.

It won’t be Araujo as we have two loans from Fulham

If it's gonna happen, it prob needs to be happening now - like you say, he'd need to get a good pre season in and gel with the players. Thing is , pre season and training has already started.
