I wouldn't want to lose Naylor so if that means no Butterfield, so be it. Finding a new home for Madden when he's not fit yet maybe doesn't help things. I'd like McGoldrick as I think he offers something different but numbers-wise we are already about where we'd want to be.

A front 4 of Dobra, McGoldrik, Markanday and Bonis would be scandalous at this level I feel

You'd suspect there are goals in that front 4.....

I’d jump at an opportunity to move Naylor on, likeable characters but doesn’t have the legs any more. Bloke I do work for played golf with him at the weekend and they were talking, Naylor was saying he wants a 2 year contract and that will be it for him.

I wouldn't be against him moving on. He was poor last season.

He was. Problem was, we played him absolutely anywhere but in his actual position.

So I guess with all the transfers its just that fast CB we need...

If Madden goes I can see us singing the lad on trial. Things have shaped up nicely

He was never poor. Played out of position many times when the team needed him to do so, but to label him as “poor” is nonsense. Is he going to be the latest player for the knob-heads to have a go at?

Pretty clear to see in my eyes that Naylors legs have gone.

I like Naylor. He's a good player. I thought he would be immense last season based on how good he was in the NL but it never really happened. He was poor by the standards he set the season before. Granted, he wasn't helped by playing in a few different positions but it was telling that he never nailed down a central position once Fleck and Metcalfe got together. Happy for him to stay, wouldn't be devastated to see him leave, that's all. Nobody is having a go and the Knob-Head comment is a bit of an overreaction.

I think he'll be at his best with Stirk alongside him. I think we'll know early on if his 'legs have gone'.

It would, Grigg has to be no 1 choice.

I can't imagine we've signed a 6 figure forward to play second fiddle. Still think Grigg starts games but can't see him being a clear no.1

Interestingly, sounds like Bonis is comfortable dropping deeper and taking it wider so maybe we'll see Grigg / Bonis / McGoldrick (pls) rotating which is good for the two older set of legs

Are you having a laugh Grigg is a proven goalscorer who we struggle without. Bonis is an exciting prospect but is he a 20 goal a season man, we don't know just yet. My ideal team would be both feeding off each other. The best part about last night was the competition for midfield places Stirk and Dias? We're superb. Grigg is currently on fire with 3 goals, if fit he has to start.

Fundamentally, no one knows the team yet. Question marks all over as to who the starters are and as you said especially the midfield, probably the best depth we've seen since Cookie returened.

Stirk, Dias is the athletic choice but Fleck, Naylor offer experience which will be needed across the season.

Even with no exits, we're a CB short for me but in a great spot.

Another CB would be nice. See if we can get Padden and Hobson out, assume Colclough will be loaned somewhere given the number change, then we need at least another player to play in the 3 behind the forrad. Wouldn't say no to another CM either.

Who wants to have the first go at trying to figure out the 22 squad places is it with what we have to date? That then gives you an idea of what needs to happen with outgoings and what room we have for new incomings. I think to qualify as U21 they have to have been born after 1st Jan 2005 based on the fact last season U21 was anyone born after 1st Jan 2004! Presumably Connor Cook still needs to be named to let us have 7 subs.

We've only got Elliot to sit on the bench if either Grigg or Bonis have to miss a match. One more needed for the striking pool.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

So for the squads it needs to have :-
22 players, of which at least 8 need to be home grown.
Dont have to name keepers or U21s (i think U21 is born after 1st Jan 2005)
1 club developed player in the 22

To qualify as home grown a player has to have been registered with any club affiliated to the FA or the FA of Wales for at least three seasons or 36 months prior to their 21st birthday (or the end of the season they turn 21). Think this can include loanees. A club developed player is any player who was at the club for 'at least 12 months prior to the end of his Under 19 season'; basically, anyone who was signed to the club for at least a year as a teenager (even if they were out on loan).
